Best meal you’ve had

Toss up between a couple for me.

Rump lamb, creamy mash, green beans and a je suis sauce at Lumley Castle. Sounds simple but was absolutely tremendous (Mind, it wanted to be for the price).

Or a Mustard Steak in Albufeira. Perfectly cooked with a real tangy, flavoursome mustard sauce.

The settings for each meal probably helped.

Lamb rump is one of my favourite cuts of meat.

Probably hotpot in Chengdu for my most memorable. Blindingly hot but tasted amazing

Restaurant Story in that London for one of the most fun, utterly random at times but v clever

I’ll add that Cape Town food is great, the seafood is tremendous

my son intending to be working in Chengdu later this year. He is a veggie who doesn't like spicy food. Will he struggle on the food front?

Miniature Banh Xeo from a lean-to down a side street in Dalat, Vietnam in 2008.

Best meal of my life. Cost about 50p.

Doubt it will ever be bettered.

I’ve had a fair few good quality meals over the years
however I’ll pick this one
we were in a villa in morira Spain 2004
we past through this small area each night on our way to the town
nevertheless on the last night we decided to eat in the little resteraunt in the small area
cuttle fish for starter
nice big lovely sirloin steak cooked to perfection
accompanied with the best Rioja
fantastic meal and ambiance
to think we walked past this resteraunt every night
