Looking around all of the custom build websites and finding it hard to pick the best spec etc. Anyone bought anything good recently in this range?

Would be using it for a bit of gaming and photo editing.

Cheers.

Have a look on Dell Outlet, you'll get an Alienware with i7, GTX 1070 and plenty memory & storage in that budget.

If you don't want a pure gaming laptop, you might consider the XPS 15. Poor man's Macbook Pro but it's a quality bit of kit in your budget.

If gaming looking at the Alienware stuff. For £1500 you could get a grx1080 17" one. Else a very good 1070 build.

The XPS is very good kit as well but not the best for gaming.

Check the dell outlet each day after about 3ish as that's when it seems to refresh.

I am probably buying one of these in the next month or so: MSI GP62MVR LEOPARD PRO-408
3gb graphics card? Might be able to get something a bit meatier for the same price.

Impressed that a thread like this having a decent budget for a change.

Yea, the dell outlet refreshes daily it seems, they list the number in stock next to the units, its normally one one or two and the good stuff goes quick.

I got a AlienWare Aurora r5 last week (GTX1080, 32gb, i7-6700k, liquid cooled, 500gb SSD, 2tb HDdrive, Bluray writer) for £1370, it retails on the main site for £2300ish.

Before that I missed out on a XPS with a GTX1080, 32gb, 500gb SSD for £1000

Stuff is going quickly at the minute due to the 15% off alienware on the outlet.

What are those alienware things? they have some on there now 1 which has an i7 but unless I'm being thick it doesnt specify which gpu it has

Or is it just some sort of console what runs PC games at 60fps etc?

Do you find the Alienware stuff to be well built? I used PC specialist and love my laptop and it is great value compared to full price Alienware gear but that outlet seems to have some cracking deals if you time it right.

Alienware is just the gaming pc/laptop brand from Dell.

The GPU's are listed on the specs.

I remember seeing alienware Pc's ages ago and they seemed stupidly priced for what they were tbh seemed like you were paying for the logo tbh

These Alienware Alpha things look more like an Xbox/Ps4
