Nolan is a crashing bore. I mean, ok his Batman films are decent fun but so are just about all Batman films. Inception is close to embarrassing imo, utterly overrated
The prestige is one of the best films of last 20 year for me….Dunkirk superb also. Momento canny but weird and insomnia decent too…

have a look at his body of work, it’s great.

I loved In Bruges and enjoyed Seven Psychopaths but thought 3 Billboards was cack
I loved Knives Out but Glass Onion not so much
I loved Trainspotting but thought Yesterday was atrocious
I loved Ragnarok but thought Love & Thunder was dire

Directors don’t seem to be very consistent

Loved 3 Billboards, Frances McDormand is amazing.

Knives Out defo better than Glass Onion, really enjoyed Looper and Brick, so had really high hopes for his Star Wars film 😑😑

Love and Thunder was rotten, but Jojo Rabbit and Hunt for the Wilderpeople are class!

And I think Yesterday is the only outright stinker Boyle has made.

Not really sure what my point is tbh, I think I agree with you aside from you being completely wide of the mark about Three Billboards.

M Night Shyamalan has done some cracking stuff, although his more recent stuff (Old / Knock at the Cabin haven't been brilliant) but The Village, Signs, Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Split etc were class
