This. The received wisdom that he's a defensive 4-4-2 manager who doesn't blood young players is so far off beam it's hilarious.
Chucked Vardy in (not a youngun obviously) before anyone had really noticed he'd hit form and got criticism for it. He's been playing a 433 for the most part with Welbeck or someone else on the left for donkeys and tried to get Shaw, Barkley, Lallana, Sterling etc probably before they were ready, so the only other options he put back in, whilst easing the lads in again and he's accused of forever picking the old guard. For two years and Sturridge out, also Welbeck in and out then the only constant scoring forward player we've had fit, available and scoring is Rooney, who has basically scored us to the finals. Now Hodgson is getting criticism for constantly picking him.
