Best educational app for pre-schoolers

Can anyone recommend a decent educational/fun app for a 4 year old?

There are thousands of them available, is it just pot luck or are there obviously better ones to choose from?
 


Does it have to be an app?

Get some phonics cards (contact their school to find out what system they use).

Mr Mac on YouTube is decent but possibly too advanced if they’ve not done anything yet.

Number bonds are also another good starting point.

Then make sure they can do the basics such as dress and clean themselves etc. etc.

Schools use online resources often. Might be worth checking with your chosen school and seeing what they use. It'll be easier for the bairn if they're already familiar with the apps.
