Given 👍

Davies👎

Davis performance at Old Trafford the night we went down was one of the best you’ll see. Think he saved a penalty the last game of the season at Villa as well.

He got half decent when there was zero pressure on. To think we had Poom and Myhre and replaced them with him man

Best

Sorensen, Gordon, Mignolet

Poom and McLaughlin were very good relative to the leagues we were in at the time as well

Worst

Davis, Steele, Ruiter, Camp

I'd have rather he kept that game in the bag for 3 days and didn't play against the Mags like he'd been on mushroom all weekend.

I don't mind losing at United, I do mind giving the Mags their biggest win on Wearside in living memory.
I have but I’m over 50!
If I asked my da this question id get a 2 hour PowerPoint lecture with reenactments and diagrams to why anyone who didn't say Monty can get the fuck out of my football club.
He'd make me feel guilty for being born in 1980 even though he's more to blame for that than me

In my lifetime:

Good: Sorensen, Myhre, Poom, Mignolet, Pickford, Given
Above Average: Pantilimon, Macho, Patterson
Average: Fulop (RIP), Westwood, Mannone
Below Average: Gordon (occasionally had flashes of being very good), Perez, Hoffman
Poor: Burge, Ruiter
Utter Shite: Camp, Steele, Davis

Will have missed a few but of the ones I saw enough of to judge thats my ranking

We've generally been blessed when it comes to keepers but that luck ran out in that Championship season at least Camp had the excuse of just coming back from a bad knee injury, Steele was supposed to be in his prime that goal Ipswich scored where the striker ran past him and Steele just dived in the air

Slightly unpopular opinion but Steele was worse than Camp for me. The amount of times he just threw the ball in the net was unreal.
I thought he was the worst too.
I think the young Shay Given was the best I saw. Some of his performances in that run were unbelievable.

Overall for us though, over a longer time period, Sorensen hard to top.

Worst? Steele.
