It would be nice if we could get Welback and/or Onouha bought so we have the option of bringing in a new signing on loan if possible (Bentley or someone else)

I think Bentley has a lot of talent, but don't know how he'd fit in, and he's not worth anywhere near what that saggy faced git would be asking for.

Would rather have the Zog and Johnson.

I think these two would guarantee a european spot this season.

i think this is true but bentley is the only english born player to score a hat trick against man utd in the premier league era.

having said that, the lad needs to start to get his career back in motion and play on a regular basis

undecided on this one personally

I agree. He's always seemed to have a lot of talent, but it rarely comes through. I thought his performance against us (viewed on t'internet, admittedly) was typical. His final delivery was terrible, in the main. Of course, Bentley is famously slow.

Wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. He exudes bad character. Our team is being built around good characters (Bent, Gyan [so far], Elmo & Nedum [hope we can keep em], Hendo, etc) Bently's attitude is better suited for the scum.

Rather sign Hutton than this twat he supposed to be a right bell end

Spot on

All he will add now is set pieces. Our right side is strong and he does have the mentality or work ethic to fit in a steve bruce team.

aye but if Bruce thinks he could show the right attitude (may have matured!?) then the lad has talent and would be a strong addition to the squad

SB will make him feel loved again and he will be awesome

7m not a penny more, he's done nowt for seasons.

Actually 5m

Sunderland and Everton eye Spurs winger Published 11:43 24/11/10 By Football Spy

Sunderland and Everton are set to go head-to-head for Tottenham winger David Bentley, according to reports on Wednesday morning.
The former Arsenal trainee has had a difficult time at White Hart Lane since joining from Blackburn in 2008 and has struggled for first team action under Harry Redknapp.
This season the 26-year-old has started just one game and with Spurs keen to bring in a new striker, they would be happy to let the midfielder leave.
The only stumbling block is chairman Daniel Levy who is keen to recoup as much of the £15m fee they paid for him as possible - a figure both Sunderland and Everton would baulk at.
One option may be a loan deal, with Spurs understood to be willing to let him go out on loan for a £1m fee.

It's in the Mirror now too, probably just his agent touting him though.

A lazy prima donna with a vastly inflated sense of his ability who turns in a half-decent performance once in a blue moon.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Would take the Blackburn version anyday - tore us apart a few seasons ago. Bollocks at Spuds though.

How long has he got left on his contract?

5-6 million tops, to anyone, hopefully not us, he's done nothing since leaving Blackburn and has looked no better than Elmo when he's been good. He also thinks he's better than he is and players like that are rarely good to have around, delusions of grandeur and what not.

Also, for 15 million, you could buy genuine quality who would take us to the next level so it would be a massive waste
