Striker
According to the Mail (I know ), Bentley in on loan with Onuoha joining permanently for 5mil in Jan is a possibility.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce plans fresh move for Tottenham misfit David

Steve Bruce is considering a fresh move for Tottenham misfit David Bentley and could face competition from Everton.

The 26-year-old has started just one game this season and will be allowed to leave if a suitable deal can be found.

Tottenham are also understood to be willing to loan him out for a £1m fee.
A permanent deal could prove difficult unless Sunderland sell first with Tottenham keen to recoup most of the £15m they paid for him.

A loan move could only be permitted if they can finalise a permanent £5m deal for Manchester City’s Nedum Onuoha who has been outstanding.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants to fund a new striker in January and offloading Bentley would help.

Everton are interested also but are waiting to find out their budget and whether Landon Donovan will rejoin them on loan from LA Galaxy.

Spurs wanting to recoup most of the 15mil they paid for him sounds like something Spurs would want, no f***ing chance.

Same as Hutton Spurs say £9m, we say £4/5m, no movement then we move on, £15m for a lad who has played once this year isnt gonna happen, however we need pace, Elmo or Hendo has that and will get better, its the left side we need another pacey winger not a snail like Bentley, although he is canny at kicking balls into skips.

have you checked the date on the mail, it could be 2008 ;)

He was terrible against us. I wouldn't want him. I'd prefer to develop Elmo as a player, or give Henderson games there.

Right-wing isn't really a position we need to strengthen at the moment.

I couldn't see Bruce sign in month of Sunday's.
Hutton was an improvement on our team at the time, Bentley has gone backwards. I can understand why Redknapp wants rid, big fee, big wages, big ego.
Spurs won't recoup 5 million on him, he might well finish up back at Blackburn. Alladyce is the type of manager that might something out of him

I wouldn't be surprised to see another right sided midfielder come in, as Henderson is clearly going to remain centrally and after that there is only Elmo as Malbranque plays more on the left now. I don't think Bentley fits that bill though, I would expect someone with more pace or someone like N'Zogbia who can play both wings.

Personally I think Bentley will end up at Fulham.

I don't think we need pace, we already have that in abundance. If Bruce fancies his chances of getting Bentley back to the form that made Spurs pay big money for him then it could be a good loan deal for us. One thing for sure is that an on form Bentley has great delivery and goals in him.

You forgot because he's shit and they have 7 or 8 midfielders better than him...

Kranjcar cost them 1.2m and is waay better than Bentley. I'd take Bentley for £4m or less, any more and we might as well spend the bit extra and get N'Zogbia

I think Bentley would offer us a quality on the ball that we don't currently have. Can't see the harm in a loan deal.

We get linked with him every window, I would of had him couple years back when we were first linked with him, but not now..Still surprised how young he is . Thought he was about 28, 29....he has still got good few years left

Everton supposedly after him aswell? Do they hack into Brucie or Quinn's laptop or something? Always after the players we supposedly want.

I think he would offer us something a bit different to be honest, and different in a good way. He offers a genuine threat when fully fit and can score goals, takes a good free kick nad I genuinely think he would welcome getting his career back on track.

Krancjar over Bentley every time

Isn't Krancjar more of a CM than winger though?

To be honest I would have any of the three - Bentley, Krancjar or N'Zogbia, because I think they all could offer something different to our team and way of playing.
