Once there was Gates and Gabbiadini...

Then there was Phillips and Quinn...

Now there'll be Bent and Gyan

It's inevitably going to be a partnership to be mentioned in the same breath.

Welbeck can start on the left or on the bench. I don't care which one.

If Bent is 100% he plays if 95% then Welbeck starts Bruce IMHO got it spot on with Mingolet even giving him the Stoke game to get his confidence back before bringing Gordon back. He also played Gyan superbly letting him get use to England and his fitness back.

Bent is our best striker. When he's fit he plays.

Welbeck has had one good game so far and people want to drop a 25 goal a season striker. Strength in depth is good, but people are getting a bit ahead of themselves.

exactly andy. the question should be gyan or welbeck. bentys no.1. some short memories on here

I think it would be brilliant if the others played to the level where Bent was left on the bench.

Unless there are injuries why change the team that performed against Chelsea? What did any of them do wrong?

If all are fit then bent has to start!

The only player that i would drop out of the chelsea demolition is Richardson!

Gyan and Bent up top with Welbeck playing just behind!

Bramble, Turner, Cattermole, Henderson and Zenden have enough in them to keep Cahill, Arteta and Pienaar at bay!

Bruce won't drop Welbeck or Gyan after Chelsea, unless injured. Nor should he. Doesn't matter who's on the bench.

I agree. Everyone knows Bent will be back in our team as first choice striker sooner rather than later, but nobody deserves to be dropped after a performance like that. Give them a chance to show they can do it again.

Shows how far we have come doesn't it?

I agree with Andy - Bent is our talisman. We need to see him and Gyan up front, Everton's defence is weak and we can exploit that.

Bents out best forward, i`d play him every game he was fit for. understand what yr saying but personally he`s the first name on the team sheet for me.

Sends a bad sign to the squad if you drop Danny. Let benty get fully fit before we bring him back.

depends on what you want, welbeck has better all round play, close control etc

bent has that that habbit of getting a goal in most games

If you start Bent, Gyan and Welbeck will not look as good as they did in the last 1.5 games. Not very compatible players and completely different ways in which they interact with the midfield.

I'd leave it as it is and give Bent some quality time to get back to full fitness. It's not as if we're under pressure to change things.

On the eveidence we`ve seen Gyan and Bent are our best two strikers, but Welbeck has been terrific when played as a central striker, albeit only for a game and a half.

Would be grossly unfair to change that side that wolloped the champions in their own backyard, bearing in mind it`s a hamstring injury Bent had i`d be inclined to leave it the same as sunday with bent on the bench.
