Beneathus "disappointed" at lack of January signings...

Why do you think that he will leave ?

His comment about not knowing what happened on transfer deadline day is a story we have seen before under Ashley and he's not one who puts up owners/chairmen who meddle in the running of the team.

Obviously Newcastle should be getting promoted with the money spent and the resources available.

If theres some doubt in managers mind, lets say a key injury to Shelvey, could curtail promotion and another body in there would help, why not buy?

The club has made huge profit over the summer, so why not pay yhe extra couple of million January tax to bring in someone of quality now rather than waiting until the summer?
Instead he signed a few centre halfs he didn't need. A left back he rarely uses. A hopeless goalkeeper. Maybe he should have planned better?

Just a thought

With the cost of the squad that they have, the length and size of the contracts that they are on, I dont see Ashley spending big in the summer personally. He wont sell anybody at a loss, goes against his nature, and he certainly wont pay players off. So there can only be one outcome in the summer. A big fall out with Benitez. And Benitez wont be shy to publicly criticize. They will still go up though.

That's correct yes.

Given your level of spending and the players you had in your squad already who are more than capable at competing at that level, do you have any sympathy for Rafa not being able to strengthen?

We have players who are instrumental in our side and if they are missing we are completely limited and half the team we are when they are in the team. Why risk £150m by not spending £15m?

Correct, some of the signings havent worked out at all.

Do you punish your manager and say,

'Whoa, no more money for you son? Your 3rd choice centre half has hardly played and you havent rotated your left back!!'

Just shows a complete lack of trust in your manager, and if thats the case there certainly a problem.

Who plays centre-half if we didn't sign Clark and Hanley? Mbemba's omission from the team is telling as to his own feelings towards the club. So that leaves Lascelles and who if we didn't bring Clark and Hanley in?

He signed enough players in the summer to cover all areas. Its hard to have any sympathy with him given the amount of players he signed and the money he spent.

He's paid to manage, could he not sort out Mbemba? You just can't discount him he's there and has been used.

Also one of the centre halfs he signed was Grant Hanley, Grant f***ing Hanley.

Thy might be thinking "do we trust this fucker with more money"?

I think Ashley is right to look at the likes of Hanley and start thinking it's dead money. Sold for a loss and having to his contract up to get him to move because of his wages, sounds familiar?

But surely you're prepared to take a loss on some players to guarantee promotion? Just the nature of the business.

TO the fella above, thats my point though, if he isnt trusted with the money thats a worrying sign.

Because Mike Ashley feels that Rafa has a squad at his disposal that is more than capable of getting you's promoted?

Could Moyes not sort out van Aanholt? When players have chucked it what's the point in putting them in the team when their heart isn't in it?

Grant Hanley was a poor signing, yes, but I thought your point was about the positions of the players he brought in rather than the quality of those positions?

Might as well bin him today if they can't trust him with money. What's the point in keeping him in the role otherwise?

Not sure if seen already but Louise Taylor in the Guardian this morning is already rotating the guns in Ashley's direction.

It is this type of sycophantic nonsense in relation to Benitez which I find astounding.

She is a poor journalist regardless.

PVA out and replaced. Mbemba still there and not used that much.
He has 4 centre halfs which ever way you dress it up.

Its unbelievable. Its becoming rather pathetic tbh

I think most have tagged on the fact that he isn't that good a manager any more...apart from the Mags who still pretty much to a man believe he can walk on water :rolleyes::lol:

I can't think of any examples of doing that tbh. Nothing is guaranteed in football and most teams will be put together on a budget.
