Bendtner

I know his touch isn't consistant but some of his first touches are the best i've ever seen at Sunderland, must be watching a different player. Agree with the shooting as for slowing down our attacks, he generally has to with him being the lone striker.

There's a great players in there, Martin O'Neill might be the person to unlock that potential.

If you see him as a potential target man I'd concede a little. They take a long time to develop and he'll be in his late twenties before he shows his true worth. Thing is though we need someone right now and ultimately I fear his lack of physical courage could hamper his career. I expected a lot more so maybe I'm being harsh.

You sound almost apologetic Randle, no need mate. Stick with it a little longer here. If he isn't a target man what is he? He's clearly not a poacher so who do you play next to him?

Seen his record for his country.........................??

He clearly can play and his touch is a million miles better than you think it it but he lacks application ( dont a lot of these modern day instant millionaires) and a team that use him like his national side does......

To say as as you have on here that his touch and control is awful is quite clearly laughable as for a big lad hes posses a lot of skill.............

Its like saying Crouch is good in the air and nowt else as hes nineteen foot six..

I'v been very disappouinted so far too. He wasn't great at all today and missed a few straghtfoward passes, but he was far from shite just as we were not "murdered" in the first half.

People were being hysterical on the match thread. If anyone thinks Ji would have been any better than I'll have some of what they're smoking.

I don't think he was "shite", he had a good second half.

Well that's the problem. He is a square peg and we have a vacany in a round hole.

I don't agree with the ott abuse he gets on here as he's a good player doing something he isn't used to and in a system he isn't used to.

He's better suited to playing for a team like Arsenal and Spurs who are intricate in and around the penalty area.

We'll see how much MO'N can adapt him but at the minute I wouldn't sign him permanently. That has bot all to do with his ability though.

At my age I wont argue against that.

Make your case man. Right here and now what does he have in his locker? Would you sign him on current performances and if so how much would you pay? Would you offer the reported £9M for his services?

Markus summed it up better than me:

'I know his touch isn't consistant but some of his first touches are the best i've ever seen at Sunderland, must be watching a different player. Agree with the shooting as for slowing down our attacks, he generally has to with him being the lone striker.

There are clearly issues with his positioning which is the main reason I feel he hasn't reached his full potential yet. This positional play, dropping deep and moving out to wide positions has had positive and negative consequences. Due to his usually impressive first touch and his intelligent build-up play, which is what probably attracted Wenger, he is a very effective in setting up opportunities for other players. It also results in him not scoring as many goals as he should, however, which is a problem. Having seen some of the goals he has scored for Arsenal and Denmark, with both feet, from long range and tight angles, he clearly should be scoring more goals. At the moment, we have a technical, intelligent striker who needs to find himself in the box more often.

I've noticed some of the same posters who are having a go at Bendtner also proposed that we should drop Sessegnon "for the good of the team" only a couple of games ago

Nemo...give ower. Support the team and support the lad. You're always moaning about something or other. He's here, he's on loan until the end of the season, either get behind him or zip it.

He's not realistically going to sign permanently. Therefore you'll be happy come the end of May.

Had off yer pillock. Much as I don't rate Crouch his first touch is way better than Bendtner's.

To be brutally honest mate hes too good for us and will sign for a better club at the end of the season....

Those who think he cant play and hasnt got touch and skill need a trip to specsavers..............

I like him......i think he's integral to the counter attacking football we are currently playing. Johnny on the spot who most people seem to want us to sign would not be involved in the construction of moves as Bendtner is.......That's not to say someone else could not do it better but you have to look at the team as a whole rather than saying he's not doing his job.......Kevin Davies and Emile Heskey (in their prime) would be no more prolific......just accept that as a team things are working.

I'm no moaner mate. I'd love to see him work for us and I was chuffed to bits when he signed for us.

I think it would be nuts to send him back, purely based on the numbers we don't have up front. There's definite room for improvement, just don't think he's as shite as what some are making out.

No its not and if you watched Bendner umpteen times hold it up and lay it off you might realise........

Still its an early start to the abuse but a mild one with "pillock"..............

youre on a wind up shirly

As were you with the £85k but never mind........................

It's easy to say that you'll look better when you play with better players but I think NB's game is set up to play with better players. I know what I mean anyway.

I haven't seen much of him for Arsenal, nor for his country. All I've seen is his time for us and he hasn't impressed. Would you pay the reported fee for him?

The problem is, when you don't want a player to succeed for whatever reason, you are deliberately blind to what's in front of you. Watch the games, in every single one, he shows great skill in bringing down, holding up and laying off balls from difficult positions. If you fail to see that, there is no point arguing with you to be honest. You're deluded.

The lad has skill class and movement which is great in someone of his size....

However he does seem to lack application but as everon here and up here especially amongst older brethren if he doesnt burst a blood vessel with every touch on the pitch hes a pile of putrid poo...............

The record for Denmark ( and Arsenal if you look when he starts) tells you all you need to know..

Still he aint good enough for us.................
