Bendtner on a permanent

I'd take him as back up for £4m and squad average wages, but he won't go for that.

Even MoN was having a laugh at his ego yesterday in the match interview with the comment about the 2 goals giving him confidence and his aside 'not that that's an issue with him'

Really can't make mind up on him. It's clear he's got quite a bit of talent, but does tend to drift in and out of the game a lot. Frustrates me at times, but does link play and bring players on really well too. Wouldn't be upset if we got him, but really wouldn't be too gutted if we didn't.

The Number 52 is not relevant to his wages.

"Before the season starts I wanted to change my squad number from 26 which I've obviously had for a number of seasons. I chose to move to 52 because it's a special number to me personally, and I hope that it brings me good luck for the new season. I appreciate that a good number of fans have bought their kits for 2009/10 already with names and numbers printed up so I'd like to personally cover the cost of replacing anyone's shirt that has my previous number. It means a lot to see supporters wearing your name and number, and I want to ensure people aren't inconvenienced by the change

Taken from Wiki.

From his own webpage

Nicklas Bendtner plays with the number 52 on his back, but actually his favourite number is 7. But when he joined the Arsenal team, the number 7 was already taken by the Czech Tomas Rosicky. So when Nicklas Bendtner was presented with the opportunity to change his old number 26 before the season 2009/10, he chose the number 52 because 5 and 2 equals 7. He also thinks that 52 sound good.

Back up :oops: who to, Ji?

f***ing hell, I would rather the lad was confident, it's better than Torres and Carroll who walk around the pitch in self pity.

Sign him up. He's quality. I've noticed he doesn't linger on the ball as much under O'Neill. He is much quicker to distribute the ball. He has class close control and the way he brings the ball down on his chest and kills it reminds me of Quinn in his pomp.

Many of you on here have abused him, so stop
I want him at SAFC on a permanent deal.
For 4 million it is a bargain!

Not only does he score goals but he give us our identity...something Gyan and Bent brought to the team and left with.
He is a character and I have always loved him.

If we can get him for £4m it would be a fantastic deal. His wages will be the issue.

MON can make him into a top player IMHO.

Go away man

If Arsenal want more than 4 mill, with what I imagine he would want in wages, IMO, it's not worth it.

He doesn't score enough goals - he's got three all season. Fair enough, he played a fair few games for Bruce, who'd lost the plot and he's been injured, but still not worth it.

That's why we have a scouting network. Would rather spend the money on another striker who's similar to Bendter (i.e., someone who holds the ball up, etc) but who scores more goals.

Bendtner's top scoring season in his career was with Brum in the championship...that says a lot, IMO.

You'd be looking at about a £24 million pound deal in total - unless he takes a massive pay cut.

I like him as a player and can't understand how so many think he is shit but I'd still be wary unless he dropped his wage demands (which I don't think he will as someone will give him £80K a week).

I honestly think something's changed with him and that, after nearly going blind, he's realised how lucky he is. The past two games he's worked harder and looked better for it. for that reason, it wouldn't surprise me if he'd be willing to take a pay cut to stay here.

Exactly, regardless of opinions, the deal will just be too big for a striker that has a poor scoring record.

Actually, I don't think they will with financial fair play rules. He isn't good enough for any of the CL teams in England, Spain or Italy. And he would have to take a pay cut if he went to Germany or France
