Bell is now our highest one day run scorer, averaging nearly 40 as well. Hardly a mug and that's despite being brought in and out of the side and in different batting positions!
We've tried with the gung ho players - not good enough and international competition is a step up in both class and pressure. At least Bell has huge experience and knows what he is doing and the strengths and weaknesses in his game. He's no absolute match winner out of the blue like a Gayle or Warner can be put he's a solid and reliable type.

Ian Bell is a good cricketer, well done to him.
He averages 31 with the bat, at just below 80
And 39 with the ball, going at under 5 an over.
Whilst I'm not a fan particularly, those stats aren't that bad. Hardly "robbing a career"
