Bell to open with Moeen

It's taken you THIS long to give up on it?
Well no but thought I'd bring everyones attention to the fact that in some shitey warm up game instead of trying a more innovative partnership. We revert to the same old shite that has failed before.

At least they've kept taylor at 3 for it.

Fair points.

Good decision, we need to bat out 50 overs much more often.

Hales is nowhere near reliable enough.
I see taylor/moeen/root as the players to bat out though.

Hales albeit hasn't proven it so far can get the rate up early on which is what is needed.

Playing Bell at the top of the order doesn't exactly mean we will now start to bat out the 50 overs.
Well aye, but it gives us more chance than playing Hales who four out of five innings will likely score about 6 from 4 balls.

If we are going to go down the safety route I would have much preferred to see Trott brought back.

I know everyone wants to see us go at 10 a over for the first 10, but this is 50 over and not 20/20,

Hales is a decent player but people are making it out that he will all of a sudden make England 200-0 off 20,

I don't agree with e gland selectors on much, but I actually think bell and Ali will do a decent job if asked to open in the competition,

On my opinion I would have liked to have seen Luke Wright included in the squad if they are thinking of the aggressive.

Hales carrying the drinks.

Well theres me giving up on this world cup before it's even began.

Why?

Bell is a quality player, with a good average and strike rate in ODIs in Australia and NZ over the last few years

I wouldn't mind seeing Hales in there, but Bell has to play for me.

I agree on most apart from Luke Wright, who has had too many chances

I'd be happy with Hales in the team for sure, but Bell has to play for me, we know he can play these international bowlers, OK he doesn't get the massive scores but he is still a class act and will score runs in Oz.

Its one of Taylor or Hales, not both

Saying that I want Ballance in there, but that depends on whether they will bowl Bopara, if they won't, then he is not one of the best ODI batsmen in England, he simply isn't

Bell averages 40 as a ODI opener which isn't that bad. Him and Cook was a shit opening partnership but him Ali is worth a look.

Good choice, bell is mr reliable, Ali can keep the run rate up early doors
