Any

Anywhere else on the pitch that's a foul for a high boot! He clearly jumps with his studs leading... Disgusting referee, should never work again!
But he will, he'll roll up next week with that smug pathetic smirk on his "I'm in charge" mush, makes you want to puke doesn't it?

That reminds me of harold Schumacher horror challenge on Batisson in the 1982 world cup
West Germany v France

Ffs, there's no comparison.

Schumacher's challenge was criminal. If Fletcher hadn't bottled it/ slipped he could have flattened Begovic. Begovic expected Fletcher to go for it and went for the ball to protect himself against the anticipated challenge.

Unbelievable, simply unbelievable[DOUBLEPOST=1385239091][/DOUBLEPOST]

Do you honestly believe he could of "speeded up" "nicked the ball away" and scored a goal without Begovics boot imploding in his face?????

I dunno mate i`m making my calls based purely on this 2 second clip. i`ll know more when i watch the incident in full

Trying to look at the incident without bias. In the context of the game and relative to Brown's sending off, I can see why most of us are calling it a red card and penalty. On the other hand, if Mannone was to do the same thing next week and get sent off. I reckon this place would be in meltdown.

This

i`ve only seen the gif of this and its pissing me off. was there more to the incident was he charging in from miles away having lost his blob or was it really just as stupid a red card as it seems from the millisecond gif clip

He ran towards the ball to make the tackle.

That's about it.

plus he was right on the line so was risking deliberate hand ball if he went with his hands

Most would be going mad at Mannone for making such a stupid challenge in the first place, like they did with both Cattermole and Dossena.

Nope was playing the ball out of defence

If Fletch hadn't "bottled it" he would have connected with Begovic when his knee was still locked out and been seriously hurt. By "bottling it"/ slipping/ protecting himself it allowed sufficient time for Begovic to retract his leg a bit before impact which lessened the contact.
