Beer Prices

7 quid a pint in central London will become the norm over the next 12-18 months I reckon. Costs are noticeably starting to rise now.

It will be sooner than that. Average prices are already over £6 (even at some Spoons) and have crept over £7 already in some more upmarket/hipster places

I had my first experience of an £8 pint in London last weekend although it was in a hotel bar which are always more expensive but a glimpse of things to come.

We were paying £6 a pint in Glasgow 4 years ago in the city centre
My mate from Darlo nearly had a coronary when he went to the bar
Belfast wasn't cheap in September - £6 for Guinness seemed to be the norm excepting Spoons which was about £3.50
Going to Paris next month and have been warned that we'll be paying £10-12 a pint

A few things the next Gov could do to save pubs .

Slash business rates on pubs & cut VAT on beer & cider

Make up for it by hiking tax on supermarket beer

At the moment it's 3x the cost of drinking at home to drink in a pub - thats mad and us putting pubs put of business

That's crazy . I live in Turin and at a local bar it's usually 5 euro for a pint or 3 euro for a 33cl bottle ( about a half )

But it always comes with a couple of dishes of snacks ( crisps , olives , pizza squares etc). So it feels like good value

Downside is I need to restrict myself to 2 drinks ....otherwise I'd be seriously piling on the pounds

So do I and seen a list from my stocktaker listing all major breweries with a date of 06/ 02 to increase prices, however did notice asahi had gone up last week quite a bit...we knew it was coming but reality is how much more can a pub stick on the price of an already rising pint
Heineken was 16/1. I posted on here about it pre Christmas when the email from them came in.

Was in Paris before Christmas and it was nowhere near that.

Even in the tourist trap Christmas market.

Just going on what a mate was saying after being there in Jan
The tourist websites say it's cheaper so not sure what to expect

The vig in harton village in Shields is charging 4.30 for fookin Carling. That's utter madness. Think the morreti in the bamburgh is 5.30. I know things are crazy with heating and shit but that's just taking the piss.

7 quid a pint yesterday round Borough Market. If the prices keep going up the way they are it won't be long before it's a tenner a pint.
