Beer Prices

We doubled that and a bit more in Newcastle .

Aye we had wine in some places but topped out at about 230 quid with our takeaway Chinese
Could easily imagine it marra.

Wont be a pub scene left in a couple of years, if that.
I can imagine, doesn’t seem to be such a thing as a cheap night out unless you want to sit in Wetherspoons
Which is why many do.

What I found in Fulham last week was that I was surprised that the beer wasn’t extortionate prices and that maybe the north is catching up. Around Fulham and Putney I think it was ‘only’ say £6 for a Camden pale. Whereas I’m paying £5 for a San Miguel up here. You expect it down south.

Me and the Mrs used to love a Saturday afternoon in Newcastle.
Been a good while since we've been but even then it appears easily a £140+
Dread to think what it would be now.

In owa 3 years still paying €1 a 33cl bottle in my local.,most others upped it 10 cents, but a glass of wine went up to 10 cents to €0.60 last summer.Coffee and pop up 10 cents.

Is that cost due to quantity of quality?

Sad times. Tend to only have a few on an outing anyway so won't impact too much (provided those places selling it survive that is). For those who like a skinfull / full days on it it's going to be a right pisser.
Casual midweek pints for the majority are about finished. It’s going to be about 4 quid a pint in the shitty pubs soon.

That's around standard price in most places now anyway isn't it?

Nah about 3 quid a pint in the provinces for shit beer

1 euro a bottle all day every day? If so that’s class. I guess the bars heating bill will be next to nowt over there
It's that price all the time,it's not a tourist area.Nee heating or A/C bills,he has big mobile AC unit in the restaurant, but ive never knarn it be on.Bar the lady cook 11 till 3 six days a week he does the lot.8 to late mon - sat + sunday afternoon till late.He looks a f***ing knackered.

I was in a Wetherspoons in London just before xmas, they had a few ales from a small local brewery on the menu, £2.50 a pint.
I think you are mixing up greed with survival.

Tim Martin will have turned up and threatened to set fire to the brewers bairns unless they sold the beer at less than cost iirc
