One of the best pubs in the North East. That cask lineup is class and very good value for money as well. Keg less so!Dunno if they do tbh marra.
Certainly does some cracking beers though.
Those are drinks to enjoy. Some don't care about the taste as long as it's cheap and gets you pissed.Todays line up from one of the best pubs in the NE (gets the customers flocking in). The keg prices would have some on here in danger of human combustion

If wether spoons can do it, breweries deffo can . It seems, along with numerous other prices, companies are chancing their arm and taking the oissI was in a Wetherspoons in London just before xmas, they had a few ales from a small local brewery on the menu, £2.50 a pint.
I think you are mixing up greed with survival.

Wetherspoons will be making pennies, if that, on ales being sold for £2.50 a pint. It's won't be a sustainable model for any other business. If wether spoons can do it, breweries deffo can . It seems, along with numerous other prices, companies are chancing their arm and taking the oiss
Give owa man. The breweries own most these boozersWetherspoons will be making pennies, if that, on ales being sold for £2.50 a pint. It's won't be a sustainable model for any other business.
More fool them i say.If wether spoons can do it, breweries deffo can . It seems, along with numerous other prices, companies are chancing their arm and taking the oiss
Thing is that extra £20+ you’d pay if you’re paying a couple of pound extra per pint and say have 10 pints over a session, could’ve been your taxi fare home, so it still makes a difference imo. Not enough to make me want to stop in I admit, I’m more likely to just suck it up and absorb the extra cost like I’ve always done, but it’s a bit of a pisser and might mean you go out a bit less often or choose to stay more local when you do rather than venture further afield into one of the towns.
Aye me and the mrsHow on earth did you double that? I assume you’re talking about a couple here?
Aye but I think that’s the point I’m making, if the £20 makes that much of a difference that someone can’t afford or enjoy their night in the way they want, then maybe they need to rethink, rather than moan about prices where they think they should be drinking.
We’ve been in situations when the kids were young and we had very little disposable income which essentially meant an early evening Italian spesh and a couple in spoons was a treat….but it wasn’t any brewery or pub owners fault, just our circumstances.
Agreed. But if it wasn't for those supping several nights a week / having sessions then there'd be a lot less pubs for us to frequent in the first place.
Surely that just proves my point? 88 pints at £2.50 a go only just recovers the keg cost. That's not a viable business model and it's why barely anywhere is selling pints that cheaply anymore, even in working class areas. You'd need to be absolutely burning through kegs to stand any chance of making it work.Give owa man. The breweries own most these boozers
I but a keg of Peroni for about 220 notes.inx Vat. That's 88 pints.
Boozer Sell it around a fiver a pint. They'll be getting it a lot cheaper than me aswell. There's still plenty of money for boozers I reckon . Perhaps if rheyfoxused on Volume by keeping prices reasonable they may actually do better. Just a thought.

The highest price paid was your liver10 pints of strong ale in 5 pubs on Saturday, the most I paid was 4.50.

I've no doubt Heineken, Diagio etc are profiteering here, but not many pubs will be.
Ah right, when women are included all bets are off.Aye me and the mrs
Get yourself in Tropis marra.Thought it was awful in there when I was last in like. I've all but disowned Houghton strip like (though I think I might be making a rare appearance on Friday).
