lad at works take on it:
i said the rest of the band just sand there and play. so its liam that basically makes it or breaks it. my cousin likes bands that put on a show. explain which parts of that is 'talking shite'.

The sound quality is f***ing woeful in the academy for starters and of course the band can have an off day, if you played an instrument you would know that.

The work between the bassist and the drummer is vital.

lad at work disagrees:

His voice was mega like probs as good as ive heard him for actual singing and it was loud enough to drown out gem, which is always good!!

wish i went now

To be fair i cant ever believe his voice would be mega, however i'm onto a losing argument because my favourite artist (i'll not call him a singer) is Ian Brown, so i clearly know fuck all about how good a persons voice is! :)

I'll defo give them a look over after maybe's another album, give them plenty of material to blast out.

Reports are suggesting it was a good night, and regardless of what people say about Liam, he knows how to get the crowd going.

This part!! there's no way the venue management would allow them to sand the stage, it would just ruin the finish!..

Disagree, it was class last night. Seen Kasabian in there twice as well its an awesome place for gigs, blows the arse off the arena

I've always thought it was a pretty good sound. I've been to some shite venues lately but have never walked away from The Academy thinking the sound was shite.

lad at works take on it:

Quality gig! His voice sounded amazing like – he was right in the mix with the crowd as well, not like oasis where he stared through ya – think i prefered that tho cos he was jumping in the front of the crowd last night.

Well, aye, sort of. He got of the stage as the last song was finishing, stood on the raised bit on the front barrier for about 20 seconds them walked off through the side door. He wasn't exactly jumping about, just having a bit mooch about.

didnt say a band couldnt have an off day. however, id suggest its not so apparent with a band like beady eye. i.e. nowt extravagent. just stand there and play the tunes. liam is what makes or breaks it. same with oasis in the main.

Listened to the album thinking it would sound exactly like the Beatles, it did and Liam Gallagher is well past his best.

the lazy beatles patter again.
id say a couple of songs sounds beatlesy and thats about it.
and how can you tell liam is past his best by listening to a cd?

 Jesus f***ing wept!! you just can't leave the lad alone can ya!
behave yisell man and move on, you're boring everyone now.

i take it you've never really listened to the beatles then
Yes I have, and don't rate them either, I think they are a vastly overrated band. There were so many bands better than them in that era, The Kinks, Stones, Spencer Davis etc...

Expect the music snobs on here to be all over that mate, brace yourself;)

Do you play a instrument by the way?

If not your opinion is worthless anyway
