Be no 40k boxing this year if Parkinson stays in charge

I doubt any of those clubs you've mentioned after spending years struggling having relegation battle after relegation battle then 2 consecutive relegations ending up in league 1 and currently sitting 13th in league 1 would get 40,000

Well I disagree.

We're averaging around late 20s for our home gates, and for a 'special' occasion we'll try to push towards 40k. If any of the teams I mentioned were in League One they'd be averaging late 20s, and would look to get a big boost for a 'special' occasion.

Unless you think some of those teams wouldn't be averaging late 20s? In which case I suggest an element of delusion.
I will, of course, absolutely.
man city haven’t got a game.
neither have Liverpool.

You definitely need to read it again ;)

Disagree

Can't remember the last time I skipped a boxing day home game. When I was around wearside.

I am getting more boring with age and preference to spend time with my kids but it's just not pulling at me to go.
Most folk don't leave the house on Christmas day.
Something to do on boxing day like a match is a welcome change.
What else is there to do?
You've spent all day inside the day before, a nice walk is OK on boxing day, but could of that in the morning
Tbh, I can't see any reason not to go to the footy on boxing day. Desperate to get away and out for a few hrs.

Agree. But if everyone thought the same and we go down to a skeleton fanbase.. that will probably be that.

Thankfully I think we have a hardened 15-20K which should keep it going at least
regardless of fanbase at this point it is almost masochistic to attend games. loyalty requires something coming back and if matchdays are miserable occasions for supporters you cannot blame them for choosing to spend their time and money elsewhere. Its not as if this has been a short term problem and fans have immediately turned their backs on the club. If ownership cannot see where this is heading then they are more incompetent than they already appear to be. Last season we had by far the biggest support in the league in addition to players albeit overpaid who were way too good for league 1 so our position was flattering. The current team has basically been assembled under the new ownership and is not up to snuff the whole thing is a mess.

Usually aye.

Cant disagree. Even in the Moyes days we couldnt have dreamed it was going to be as shambolic as this.

Half the teams in the Premier League could, as well as the odd Championship club.
Leeds and man city got less people through the gates than us in the third tier. That's not speculation, that's just a fact. Looking at villas attendances when they were mid table championship, I'd be confident they'd be comfortably less. Other clubs simply haven't been tested and have big glory hunting followers. Would expect half a dozen clubs to match us/exceed us, simply because they have more fans than us and are genuine super powers. Wouldn't be confident of any more than that.

Remember how bad its been for so long. 10 years of relegation struggle, back to back relegation then losing twice at Wembley.
