I think it was hummer wanted royalties for the use of humvees, then the gun manufacturers saw them doing it so they wanted royalties for the use of their products.

Squad did a update a while back replacing the humveees they used in the game. Its the same reason why arma 3 was set so many years in the future with vehicles and weapons they designed.

So by the looks of it battlefield games will be be based on older conflicts where the patents have expired and the IP comes under free use. Or set in the future. Like battlefield 2142 was.

Really? That's a joke, you think they'd be happy enough with the advertising rather than price themselves out of being in a game.

It was a cutscene intended to look like gameplay. Yes it’s WW2 and I dunno about that lass with the metal hand, kinda took a bit of the realism away for me.
