It did exist though and Gervinho was fouled and it should have been a penalty. Just went down far too easily, a bit like Lampard earlier today.

 Aye, right.

Could have easily been given as a penalty. So, the foul could have "existed". You still haven't addressed the fact that Barton incited him by picking him up aggressively and grabbing him, which should surely be a red card offence alone

How many 'coming togethers' do you see in football that result in red cards unless hands have been raised? Very, very few. That action deservedly earned him a yellow card. Like I've said, I don't always agree with the rules, but I'm only going off past precedent. Would I like to see people punished for going to ground too easily? Yes. But it doesn't happen so, like I've already said, Joey shouldn't be made a scapegoat in this situation just because of who he is.

"coming togethers"? There's a difference between that and Barton dragging someone up off the ground and then having him by the neck.

Did you not watch MoTD like? Or Goals on Sunday? They clearly showed there was contact and like the rule touch someone's face= red card.
Contact in the box= Penalty.

Really? You see, I was under the impression football was a contact sport. Clearly I was wrong.
I'm still not entirely sure there was contact, but if so it was minimal and there was not enough to constitute a foul, definitely not, therefore Gervinho simulated a foul that didn't exist and was categorically in the wrong.

You've made that bit up.

I'm not going to study the rulebook to see if you're correct or not, but it's accepted nowadays that if you raise your hands to an opponents face in a confrontational manner you're off. Everyone knows that these days whether it's written down or not.

so you don't know the rules as well as being thick?

I believe it is too, but I'm going by your rules, contact to the face is a red. No matter how soft, like Gervinho's. Contact in the penalty area, results in a penalty. No matter how soft.

He picks him up by the neck on his shirt, whilst in the process of doing so, putting his hands on his neck.

so you don't know the rules as well as being thick?

Aye, because not studying the rulebook to check the credibility of a claim on an internet message board constitutes not knowing the rules. As for f***ing thick, I can tell you're a bastion of knowledge.

Your either obsessed or f***ing thick, do you think this is a Newcastle message board?

So you're just thick then. Got that sorted

I've never said contact in the box is a penalty. I dunno why you're even trying to argue this point, you've already acknowledged that Gervinho deserved to go and it's widely accepted by everyone these days that if you raise your hands you're off.

Well we're having a constructive time discussing NUFC matters aren't we? :)
I may post on here, but the vast majority of my posts are to do with Newcastle. I certainly do not obsess over SAFC, the same cannot be said for many on here judging by the large quantity of NUFC discussion/posts/threads.

My dear god, you are thick! I'm not going to argue on this matter anymore, but all I'm going to say is that, yes I agree, Gervinho should of went, but my point is that Barton should of as well.

This is a Sunderland message board though

why do people argue with this sad cretin. He hangs around on an SAFC message board because there isn't a decent NUFC one. That should show what type of bloke he is.

Barton is a knacker. I had a lot of sympathy for him after he was stamped. But then his fairy ballerina antics later on showed what he really is.

Whatever the laws are on diving, he's still a reprehensible knacker for doing it.

Yes, but you were trying to argue the point of any contact to the face being a red, and comparing it to minimal contact in the box, in that post. Comprende?

It's a Sunderland message board with more than plenty NUFC discussion.

Anyhow, I've said all that needs to be said, so I'm oot. Night night boys.

I really don't know why I do mate. I just got sick and stopped, I've learnt from my mistakes and sins.

What did Barton and savage have to say to each other? I missed it.

Basically Savage told Barton to pull his trousers down and bend over so that he'd be better able to feel how soft Savage's lips were.

Always thought Savage disliked Barton. How I was wrong. They're both twats.

I'm glad I didn't listen to this after reading all the comments.

One thing I would say is thats its clear NUFC have lost control of Barton.

He spouts shite on Twitter and still gets a game and then is involved in the biggest controvesy of the weekend which underlines the fact that he is a twat of the highest order, and then instead of lying low and letting it pass he's on twitter and the radio dragging it out even more and keeping their name in the dirt.

If one of our players went on like this I'd be ashamed.
