It was funny as fuck when he talked about Steven Taylor though.

Said that Taylor said he'd seen Gervinho knock his teeth out and elbow him but that this was typical Taylor as he sees what he wants to see and "isn't the sharpest tool in the box".

Aye, thought that was brilliant, as well as: "You've lost your accent a little bit though" to the angry gooner who claimed he'd supported Liverpool for 25 years.

just seen the incident on motd2.

should have been 3 red cards
barton,gervinho and taylor

a cringeworthy, truly embarrassing incident!

bunch of pathetic soft ! curnts

What did Barton and savage have to say to each other? I missed it.

Don't be silly, referee got it spot on, shame him and his officials got the Song incident wrong though. Thankfully Song should be receiving a retrospective 3 match ban sometime in the couple days.

:lol::lol: Taylor should of got a yellow, totally disrespectful and Barton should of been sent off as well. He grabbed Gervinho by the neck and shirt and dove on the floor like he had been punched by mike tyson!

I do agree that Song should have been sent off.

barton grabbed gervinho by scruff of the neck and pulled him up,
no need really was there?
should have been a red aswell

taylor should have got a red for being a curnt!!

Well saying he grabbed him round the neck is a lie, he pulled him up by his shirt. Yes, he did go to ground very easily, but Gervinho raised his hand to Joey's face so Gervinho had to go. You cannot raise your hands, there can be no argument there. He deserved his yellow for dragging him up in the manner he did, nothing more, nothing less.

There's nothing in the rules about raising your hands

Well I may of went over the top:lol: But even so, Barton should of got sent off for pulling him up which was unprovoked and diving like a puff. Yes, the Gervinho decision was the right one, but Barton should of gone.

I'm not going to study the rulebook to see if you're correct or not, but it's accepted nowadays that if you raise your hands to an opponents face in a confrontational manner you're off. Everyone knows that these days whether it's written down or not.

Barton incited him and committed the first offence. They both should of walked.

what if you lower your hands towards an opponents face in a confrontational manner? ie, what barton did to gervinho?

Yellow for the pull, nothing for the going to ground. It's a dive if there's no contact, yes he made a meal of it but Gervinho slapped him on his face, Barton was only making sure Gervinho received the correct punishment. It may not be 'morally' right, but it's little more than gamesmanship and if we started sending players off for making a meal of things (which, again, is different from diving after zero contact) we'd never finish a game.
Personally, I don't 100% agree with this kind of gamesmanship, but it's common place in football these days and Joey shouldn't be made a scapegoat just because it's Joey. If Joey had to go there the referees would have to have consistently sent off every one else who did similar, which they haven't done for some time and won't do in the future.

If you punished players for doing what Barton did and trying to get other players sent off, it would stamp it out of the game, funny how Barton called Gervinho a cheat and Barton isn't? f***ing arsehole. I also find it amusing how you say 'Joey', is he a good mate of yours?

Gervinho simulated a foul that didn't exist, Joey only exaggerated a foul that clearly did exist. It's a fine line, but they're very different. "f***ing arsehole", bless, no need to get so riled up, we're only having a sensible football discussion. And aye, he's me bessie marra. ;)

Occasionally you come out with sense in your posts marra (tin hat etc) but yer in a dream world of denial on this. He didn't just pull him up he fuckin went for him bigtime and Taylor had to struggle to hold him back. He went down like a sack of spuds when Gervinho brushed his face, deliberately to get him sent off, while Taylor made elbow gestures to add to the lie. Hard/dirty playing is commonplace, cheating on that level is pretty rare. Them two were a disgrace to your club yesterday and you know it. Savage only stuck up for him cos he's obviously shit scared of the psychotic twat.

If you do have any mates, Barton would suit you. Two thick as shite mags.

I get so annoyed, because you fail to admit anything bad about Newcastle, totally deluded.

It did exist though and Gervinho was fouled and it should have been a penalty. Just went down far too easily, a bit like Lampard earlier today.

Could have easily been given as a penalty. So, the foul could have "existed". You still haven't addressed the fact that Barton incited him by picking him up aggressively and grabbing him, which should surely be a red card offence alone
