Bardsley was injured in training

...because that's not one of his primary duties in the team.

If we were scoring 3 or 4 a game, but conceding the same, no one would be suggesting the strikers were to blame for the goals conceded, as that would be plainly ridiculous. Same works in reverse.

We've got a very good defensive record this season, and Bardsley's been part of that defence more often than not.

Utterly bizarre comment, especially as full backs are supposed to attack down the flanks.

I like Bardsley. Type of player you don't really appreciate until he's gone.

Pretty embarrassing that mate.

Don't think anyone's saying he should be revered, merely acknowledged as being a decent premier league full back, which he is.

Not brilliant, but certainly not shite.

Your constant agenda against Bardsley is pretty tiresome tbh, and completely disproportionate to his ability and in relation to that of his team mates, IMO.

This ^

We very nearly were in a relegation battle after being 6th in the table at Christmas.Defensively we are not ok, had we conceded less then we may have won more games. It's just as good an argument as yours is.

The majority of the goals we've conceded have been from daft defensive mistakes.

It just goes to show how weak our squad is if Bardsley is a first team choice. He'll end up like Kilbane, disliked.

Bardsley's goals helped us stay out of it. ;)

Has O'shea started using his new arsehole Akkoto ripped him on Sunday yet?

Apart from one instance where Oshea closed the ball down and Larsson didnt track Akotto i'm not sure what you are talking about. Oshea had a great game defensively.

Disagree entirely. Having full backs that are inept at going forward is one of the main reasons we struggle as a team. Our wingers get no support and have very few options making them easier to defend. Opposition wingers don't have to track back as much and that leaves them in better attacking positions. We can't build any pressure on teams as we can't pin them deep into their own half. Bardsley playing on the left causes a horrendous imbalance and pretty much negates any attacks from the left.

He can't shoot or cross with his left and has to cut in and then balloon a shot with his right.

In the olden days he may have been alright but if you're going to be anything other than mediocre then you need better than him.

Richardson is far, far, far superior at left back.

Spot on post.

Glad the shite fucker looks like he's missing tonight.
