 He was rotten down Wolves last game of the season. I think Bardsley is canny and nowt more tbh. Also like his attitude.
Hutton played for us 11 times and looked canny sometimes, shite others. I'd rather rely on the lad av seen play for us over 100 times and generally done a canny job over a fella who has played far less and has been generally been pretty shit since he left. I don't agree with the "prone to errors" bit either.
I think Bardsley is better than Hutton.

Well there's no chance Bardsley would have played for Tottenham and he wasn't good enough for Villa. Hutton when fit is also in the Scotland team ahead of him so all that considered it would suggest he isn't.

Hutton once commanded a £9m fee. Bardsley will never be good enough to command such a fee. Deep down you probably know this and you like Bardsley because he is commited. However, he falls significantly short in the ability stakes. He struggles to retain possession, he's not the quickest and offers very little in terms of supporting Larrsson going forward. He is even more restricted when he's playing on the left side.

He was shit at Hull, when he was sent off.

He was playing well at Hull until he was sent off. However, didn't the other player go with him? Or at least I thought it was evened out (might be wrong). Did he throw the ball off a player or something, I remember thinking it was daft but harsh at the time.

I don't make things up. He got murdered down Wolves, it sometimes happens for fulbacks. To say he was some kind of all-conquering full back is making things up.

You've named one game in which I'll bet you were pissed when watching it. Bardsley has been murdered numerous times most notably down West brom last season. That should have been enough for him to have been dropped. Unfortunately, there is no competition for his place.

I often wonder what sort of wages he is on?
Had a good season last year and my attitude has softened towards him, do I think we will finish in the top 10 with him lofting long balls foward againt the stronger teams? absolutely not.

To be fair I dont think anyone would argue that RB is a position that we can improve on. I also dont think though that it is a priority with some of the problems we have further up the field.

Are you reading the same thread that I am?

We are arguing exactly that.

You think Spurs paid the right amount for Hutton?
We paid 6 for Michael f***ing Chopra.

We paid £5m for Chopra who was top goalscorer in the championship the previous season. He scored some very important goals for us that season which ensured our safety (Villa away in particular springs to mind as does his last minute winner at home to Spurs on the first day).

Hutton had european experience behind him and he was a Scottish international. Other teams were interested in him as well at the time so that obviously hiked up the price a bit.

Unsure why you're comparing the signing of Chopra to the signing of Hutton.

Just illustrating that the fee paid for a player does not reflect anything other than the level of desperation from either the buying or selling club. When did scottish international become an indicator of ability? Bardsley is a bit of crowd favourite up in Scotland by the way. ;)
