Looking to take the mrs (no) for her birthday next month. I'm sure it's been done to death on here (although I have searched and nothing for a long time) but any recommendations for hotels please?

Thanks.

Europark is walking distance from Placa Catalunya and the Passeig de Gracia. Near a metro on the right line for the beach too.

The steak at Alfonsina round the corner is spot on too.

This is lovely with a rooftop pool and couldn't get more central.

If you prefer boutique style hotels, this one at the top of Las Ramblas is very good but they tried to rip me off during the volcanic ash crisis so please defecate in their undercacker drawer on departure.

These on the other hand really looked after me and did a great deal. Couldn't recommend them enough. About ten minutes walk from Las Ramblas but plenty of little bars around. Deli downstairs etc. I prefer apartments to hotels so it depends on what you are after.

Cheers for that. I've just emailed the bottom one to see what they can do.

pretty sure ive stayed at the top one, very nice, great location

Don't know if this is any good. It's apartments in Les Corts which is close to Camp Nou as we went primarily for the football. Apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Few nice restaurants nearby, a couple of supermarkets and other shops and a few minutes walk from a Metro station so we found it easy to get around. The tapas restaurant near to the entrance is fantastic and my eldest still talks fondly about it! I would go back.
