Bands where people only tend to know one member

It was canny funny although 'Ken' ended up probably being the most successful of the three of them.

Depends what you mean by a normal punter.
The whole thing's turned into a daft argument bout how much a certain type of person might not know. It's almost musical snobbery in reverse.

"Oh I've heard of Tony Iommi, but Joe Bloggs hasn't, so it doesn't count." Fuck off man.

Most people in the street would not be able to name one band member.

I like Radiohead (not a major fan) but have no clue who is in the band other than Thom Yorke.

I've seen muse at a festival and have no idea of any of their names. To be fair, I've never listened to Muse voluntarily.

I doubt many normal punters could name one member of led Zep.

I know Robert Plant, I should know another it’s there somewhere in my subconscious.

I’ve been sitting thinking of groups where I know all of the bands names.

The Sex Pistols
Take That and Marco, Merrick, Terry Lee, Gary Tibbs and yours truly.

That’s about it.

Evidently. However let’s be honest - the nature of threads like these is to attract music snobs! Normal “punters” wouldn’t give a shit anyways

The nature of threads like these is to attract people who are puzzled and/or surprised by a turn of phrase like “…people don’t know”, or “nobody’s ever heard of…” so that people who, for one reason or another DO know or HAVE heard of, or know loads if people who do and have, feel a need to point it out, so that the people who made the original point can call them elitist snobs.
