Aviva and British Gas - Avoid

Add Hastings Direct to the list. I emailed then advising I wasn’t renewing my home insurance and they still renewed it. They’re still chasing me for the payment despite confirming they received my email informing them I wasn’t renewing prior to the renewal date.

Sadly you have to phone them marra, I've used them on and off over the last few years depending on chepest quote. It's a bit of a scam having to phone them but they do try to beat your current quote so it works both ways a bit.

TUI are the same takes an age to get through then they try and fob you off and claim it was all put through a 3rd party. So you try and speak to the 3rd party and it turns out you can't answer the security questions because you didn't book with them and they need the email address of the TUI person who booked it.
TUI are bad like.

You can’t cancel via email, pretty much standard for all companies that.

I went through four or five energy suppliers before I settled with British Gas, specifically because their customer service was so much better than all the ones I'd been with previously!

It’s all in writing as evidence as I currently have 2 home insurance policies. I’ve emailed the CEO Toby Van Der Meer and asked him to investigate. There’s nothing wrong with the price it’s the shocking customer service that’s forced me to look elsewhere.

Just been sent an E Mail from Hastings Direct apologising for their error and sending me compensation as a result of their error.
