Tip- get an MX5 instead.
the mrs has just bought one of the new shape ones. lovely car but a bit of a struggle for those of us who are tall and 'big boned' to fit in :D
she'd only had it 2 days and we were on our way to the match at shrewsbury last week going along the m62 when it broke down. loads of warning lights on so called the dealer and limped it back to them. got it back yesterday and turned out it was just a duff spark plug.
canny service from the dealer really and they sorted out another couple of issues i'd noticed that she hadn't without quibble.

New ones look nice but I’d go for a good earlier model to be honest. If having a full on midlife crisis moment then a Lotus Elise. They are a bit tricky for those of us that are slightly bigger or less flexible though!

the lotus's look nice but out of all that sort of car i like the look of the tvr's. totally impractical for the likes of me though.
as for the size of the mx5, it's small but it's a lot easier to get in and out of than the daihatsu copen she had for years. now that was a struggle :D

Funky little things Copens, emphasis on little!
TVR have always made some amazing cars. If I could afford one and the in call mechanic to go with it I would definitely buy one!
There’s a fraction of the private sellers on auto trader that there once was. So it seems anyway
Think it’s just because every dealer is on there now so appears that way although it also has far more competition than of old.

Very nearly bought one a few years back, was a bargain at the time because it was in the back of beyond in Scotland and the bloke was just too isolated for most folk to bother going to look at it. Told a lotus enthusiast/ mechanic I was thinking about it and asked whether he’d go and look at it with me for a few quid and the bastard bought it that weekend!

That one’s a bloke I work with and has been well looked after.

He knows his cars too.

Its just a shop window really
If you buy a ringer on there from a cowboy it's not really AT fault
They give you all the hints about buying etc
Loads of dealer and specialists on there
Good site

i have a look on there from time to time.
this is right up my street. wouldn't have the time to keep it maintained as a daily runner though.

Thoughts on Making an offer on a car on Autotrader, it’s a small dealership car is up for £13,950
Which is a good price according to AT profile.
Anyone in the used car trade, What you reckon a good opening offer ?
