Anyone bought a car off there good or bad experiences ?
I always used main dealers for cars Looking for a BMW Z4 bit of a midlife crisis 😂 spend summer booming round Weardale any tips apart from kicking tyres

Yeah Z4, save your money!

Seriously though they’ll be plenty of good and bad experiences, more good nowadays I’d imagine.

Also plenty of genuine second hand car dealers on their. Many arguably more reputable and honest than main dealers I’d argue.

They’ll be plenty of knowledge out there on what you should be looking out for on a second hand Z4.

Do you mean from a private listing?

If so, no.

A few yes, do your homework, be careful and you’ll be fine. It is mostly dealers who advertise on there, but some are private sellers who you can select in the filters, if it’s private you are looking for.

Don’t forget the most important bit then, an HPI check. I certainly wouldn’t worry about buying private but I used to be in the motor trade and know what I’m doing, id certainly say take someone with you who knows their way around a car, if you are not comfortable yourself as there will be no warranty or come backs.

What car is it? Mileage? Year?

check out goodwood sportscars website. if you want fun up the Dales in a 2 seater sportscar buy one of their MK1 Eunos (MX5) imports.

Theyre great fun and are increasing in value. Investment.

There's a pretty active owners club for the Z4. I'd have a look for it if you are thinking if buying private, as there will usually be someone in it selling one, and they will be better looked after than most. Depends which one you want though, as an enthuisat will be more likely to have the M version or 3.0si version which will be pricier.

AT is just a platform, it will have plenty of dodgepots using it, just like eBay etc
Main dealer cars are more expensive but you have more protection. Private the opposite. Pay your money take your chance really unless you know what you are looking for, which probably eliminates 95% of people.
I’d get a main dealer car if it’s in budget.

90% or more of autotrader are main dealer and garage sales. Good to find what you fancy and go directly to have a look.
Always wary of private sales as no comebacks. Sold as seen, however a garage will usually sort any after faults but has a mark up, so need to weigh up the pros and cons.
Always go in dry weather, look underneath (Car and road) for leaks.
Best thing I find is say something along the lines " I am interested but just tell if there are any faults so I can fix them" You'll be suprised how many people actually tell you.

Aye i bought a civic from a small trader down nottingham and a CR-V from an independant in wigan . Both sound , payed top bookish for them like but they were both top book cars, massive histories , dealer serviced etc

I've always bought and sold privately through AT. but a lot of the 'dealers' on there are quite dodgy.

As long as you do your research and learn to let a car go if there's something wrong then you will be reet
