Gents,

Anyone have / had one of these? Are they any good?

Thinking about getting one in a couple of months, probs on an '08 plate for around 16k.

Is the combined MPG of 35 realistic? A few of the independent forums I've read would suggest it is.

And yes I know that the backseats are only suitable for one of the borrowers

Whats ride / performance like?

Gosh, did not expect those two responses, thats the first time I've heard that....

Look at me, look at me, i'm buying a flash (albeit gay) car whilst others are struggling to live and feed their families, and are losing their jobs!!!

Just like a scaled down Mickey Gray!!! ;)

Can the collective minds of the SMB point out what other cars I should be considering then?

Looked at the 3 series coupe, incredibly common plus a new 3 series is coming out next year. TT's aren't due to be changed until 2013 at the earliest.

Looked at an A5, but can only get low spec / very high milers in my price bracket.

Anything else?

I'm looking for a nice car that looks a bit sporty and goes fast but won't involve me re-mortaging my house to run and insure.

If I could afford it I'd go for an A5 3.0 TDI S Line, but I can't :-(

Honda S2000

Great car agreed, but not particularly prestigious, plus I feel like I'd look a bit of a berk turning up at clients offices in one.

And TT's aint?

If i were you, and had £16k to spend, i'd save a wedge of that money and go by a Honda S2000.

my boss has the 'S' version of the TT, he seems to like it. wouldn't have though you'd get the 35mpg though.

The 'S' is beautiful, but bloody expensive and my insurance company would laugh at me

as would the clients when you stepped out of it! ;)

Actually, who are your clients....this will assist in the advice given.

What about a 6 series BMW...some cracking examples to be had at a decent prices although MPG might be a bit of an issue on one of those

Clients can be anyone really, I work for a software house that develops secure print and document management software, Sainsburys, Phillips, Siemens, HSBC are all customers to name but a few

I think the 6-series look like someone got bored half way through designing them

can get a decent example porsche 911 996 carrera 2s for a good price these days. even the 997's are coming down. just saw an aston db9 for sale at 35k on autotrader today. prices have fcking collapsed

have a gander through the classifieds on www.pistonheads.com
