Ill just keep it simple Randy.

Newcastle will never play in the third tier.
Sunderland will never play in the champions league.

Ill just keep it simple fatty,

Man City have played in the 3rd tier, Man City have just been crowned Premier League Champions.
NUFC will never be crowned Premier League Champions.

Nor will SAFC like but it proves your 3rd tier is shit a load of old arse.

Got to admit that I was glad Derby took that record from us.

Remind me again who the one team the worst team in Prem history beat that season will you ?

When people refer simply to 'United,' they speak of Manchester, not Newcastle. That must pain them in their bid for global recognition.

From the NUFC.com match report of the 2-1 Sorensen save game.

'And then what? The other lot decided they weren't going to roll over and die and started to fight back. How dare they. Quinn's header that was tipped away by Shay should have woken the team and the crowd up but instead we retreated further inside our shells. The equaliser had us reeling on the ropes and Quinn's winner had us throwing in the towel. When the going gets tough the tough go silent and walk out, apparently. There were 12 minutes left to inspire a fantastic comeback but some had gone well before Shearer's penalty miss. Even then a rousing finish could have been mustered if 50,000 voices had inspired a team that looked punch drunk. But if we couldn't be bothered then why should the team?

We weren't losing 4-0, we were a goal behind to the deadly enemy and as Canvey Island proved a never-say-die attitude can get you out of jail. I wonder how many of the 10,000 early-leavers had chanted "We can see you sneaking out" at Old Trafford? Next time they sing it I hope it chokes them.'

The truly great teams defend league championships.

Sunderland have.

Newcastle haven't.

wise words indeed randy.
to do it once is a great achievement. to follow it up next year when every match is like a cup final shows true dominance.

newcastle have never once dominated english football in their entire history. we are one of the relatively few clubs who have.

SAFC's 'team of all the talents' won trophies.

NUFC's 'entertainers' won fuck all.

Surely that's bullshit, only Sunderland fans would walk out on their team early (when we were being far more humiliated I might add), the Newcastle superfans would never do such a thing.:lol:

The invisible force field on the halfway line in the playoff match in 1990, which saw the shellsuit and stonewash denim-clad mags collectively drop their arses as one.

As Sunderland fans, we are pragmatic and accept our place in the football food chain. Yes, we aren't a big name outside of these shores (who cares?), but we are one of the top 10 biggest clubs in England; a club steeped in a rich history as one of the oldest in the land. Even after 130 years of league association football, only a handful of clubs can top our tally of English league championships.

The mags, however, genuinely believe they are a global brand right up there with Barcelona and Man Utd. This probably goes back to the days Freddie Shepherd was tea boy at the G14 clubs meetings, crawling under the table on his hands and knees with his gob open like a cheap whore, hoping for a morsel to fall his way from the table.

It never did Freddie lad, because you were neither good enough or successful enough.

75'118 > 56'299

That is our record Average Season Attendance (whilst in the 2nd Div and was a league record for many years). Yours is 47,785 which we've bettered numerous times. Our official record league attendance is 68,386 and cup is 67,596. Your cup record is 75,118, can't find your record league attendance

These are official figures however creative accounting was rife and contemporary reports suggest that these figures are 1,000's, perhaps several thousand, short.

Make of that what you will. I make of it that despite having the bigger ground for most of the time that when it comes to filling it you are a pretty poor 2nd to us.

Over the course of time 10,000,000 more fans have attended at SJP despite Safc being the older club. When Safc were winning titles Nufc had the higher average of the two.

Your record low average is also lower than Nufc.

Still; you are a well supported club.
