I was at that game, and it's twice the distance in a less meaningful game. Nowt against those that travel, absolutely they're real fans, but they're on for promotion tomorrow night, it should be twice that number.
I suppose our comparable would have been Barnsley a few seasons ago. Did we take 4,500/5,000?

Windiest night ever.

That is pathetic. Goes to show the level of shit we're in, playing a team who can basically win promotion on the night, short distance away and that's the ticket sales.
Doubled that figure now and their ticket office is open till 2pm

I was thinking of Wigan away under McCarthy where we took 8,000 but aye that Barnsley game works too. You're right about the wind as well, goal kicks were struggling to reach the half way line.

Or the Tranmere game, on the Friday night of the Grand National weekend. Filled the big end there, along with spillover and along some of the side.

EDIT: And it's a fair bit further to there, driving. And the train journey is a bit awkward.

Was absute bedlam in that end at Tranmere that Friday night. Every isle/gangway full of fans, our fans climbing over Tranmere's home end gates to get in. My mate got bitten by a copper dog trying to get over.

It was, there were no assigned seats, just sit where you want. Class night

That end officially holds 5,700.

Must have had at least 6,500 in it.
And others up the two sides.

Seven or eight thousand, for a comparable game. And although in a division higher, it's further away and harder to get to. And accommodation was hard, on account of the Grand National.

And John Aldridge face when he scored the penalty he couldn't understand why we were celebrating
