Attendance Thread - Rotherham United

Some on here can be very condescending sometimes. Fair play to anyone who makes the effort to support Rotherham when they have the 2 Sheffield clubs and the North West clubs on their doorstep
I never get the fascination with how many fans or how big a club is. Seriously who gives a fuck is their some kind of cup or competition you win for it?

There's loads of factors involved with different clubs attendances. The mags and us are a 1 city club, the north east isn't a rugby mad area you would expect both clubs to get big crowds. The mags think they're super fans or something they aren't it's a massive city with a massive surrounding area with 1 club in it. That's why they get the support they do

Fans of other clubs only care about their own club and the ones that go to the games couldn't give a shit about other clubs support and how big it is

How many Rotherham supporters went to the Pizza Cup final? Obviously you will always get some people wanting to do a London trip and visit Wembley who wouldn’t attend otherwise but I’m assuming they had more than 10k there so it’s amazing if they can’t even get a third of that for a potential promotion clinching game which is much closer to home.

I was in the ticket office at 11 today, about 8 people constantly waiting, one lass behind the counter, lad in front said he had been trying to get through on the phone but no answer so he had to go down there. Its being run like a f***ing car boot sale
Don’t give them any ideas mate. Wouldn’t put it past Donald and Methven to bulldoze black cat house and sell match tickets out the boot of an old Vauxhall Corsa.

Very poor show, attendance would be greater if only the ticket office was managed properly

That is pathetic. Goes to show the level of shit we're in, playing a team who can basically win promotion on the night, short distance away and that's the ticket sales.

No need for that. We only sold 800 for Shrewsbury away and our average gate is 3 times what Rotherham's is. If they bring 700 then fair play to those who travelled.

Rotherham to Sunderland is 2 hours. Sunderland to Shrewsbury is 3 and a half hours+. Bit of a difference.

Bit of a different in size of fanbase between us and Rotherham as well. Added to that we will have far more exiles dotted around the country than they will. Just don't get the point in belittling their support. We've taken plenty of 3 figure away followings in this league, especially midweek, but what does it matter? Fair play to those who spend their time and money supporting.
