Atmosphere..

This thread

I swear a lot of the younger fans who turn up at the SoL these days have no real interest in supporting Sunderland. It's more about standing up because it's against the rules, winding up the stewards who are only acting under instruction, being in competition with people sat in other parts of the stadium to see who sings the loudest then boasting on places like this about it (our block sings more than your block blah blah) and so on.

It's f***ing pathetic man

And yet none are harming you or affecting your matchday experience and yet you feel you have to lecture fans on here day in day out.

it sounds better when one half chant rawa and then other half responds with the same. Constant noise. It's only a distraction if you don't know the rhythm and when to pipe up.

I have been around that chant for decades , I know how it goes , I have been in the middle of it when the roof has been lifting . I agree it sounds better like that but as I said you can't make it up it just happens . Some people trying too hard and sounding desperate

It would sound better with another group singing
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, as a sort of background melody and everyone maybe ending with Yeah yeah yeah

:) :) plus a full madrone

Not a lecture, merely an observation. The only time the SS have really been audible from the North is when they sing about the stewards, more so v WBA than last night i'll admit.

My matchday experience hasn't been as good this season with the away fans sat directly above me either if i'm being honest and the less said about what's happened on the pitch the better.

I'm team standing and singing all day long but the people saying the atmosphere was great last night are living in cloud cuckoo land. It was shite.

You're quite clearly lying though in an attempt to win a nonsense argument. Either that or selective hearing.

Clearly it depends on where you sit. I've thought it's been flat all season which is hardly surprising considering the fare on the pitch I suppose but a lot of those in the South say it's been great.

Incidently I bought 2 Sunday papers last weekend and both of them commented on how flat the atmosphere was v West Brom, with one of them even putting the poor atmosphere in their "moan of the match" part (they did blame the early kick off mind). The reporter would have been sat more or less on the half way line so he would have been in a better position to judge than most.

I sit in the SWC right next to the south.

I sit in the North Stand and I genuinely thought the South Stand was easily the loudest it has been all season. Not a great deal to compare it with as I think the atmosphere has been quite poor most of this season (not just in the South Stand). Still, I feel it was a step forward which is surprising as I would have thought there would be a better atmosphere for the Saturday games when people have had a skinful.

What was funny last night was when it absolutely pissed down and everyone in the front rows of the south stand got up and went down the back :lol:

I thought it was better than previous matches but died a bit the longer the match was going on.

They all stood as well.

well done every one in south stand lower bowl rows 7 8 9 onwards we got a right soakin never left our seats ,stewards tried to get us to sit once but everyone said were not sitting on the wet seats ne more bother of weasel

4 of us tried to start a bounce off with the mignolet song like the aris fans on that video just link arms and jumping like fools singing a mignolet a mignolet a mignolet

didnt catch on
