it was in time.

red and white army (red and white army) red and white army (red and white army)

basically cos martin onell doesnt fit very well.

I think it sounds better like that when your in amongst it but it sounds louder on telly doing the other version like

he is confusing singin out of time with two groups singing at different times but within the tune.

aye basically ;)

you takin the piss? it was sang in the stands long before the kids in the concourses latched onto it. the swc used to rock to it ffs

Did it fuck rock to it man :lol: f***ing hell man.

the lads at the back of U37 had "Martin O'Neill's red and white army.. S.A.F.C" going last night. Sounded alright imo.

what difference does it make volume wise if you sing red and white again rather singing martin oneills?

.

i'l try and explain what I mean...
basically doing it your way means that half are singing rawa then the other half are singing it at a different time (unless you sing both parts but you will pass out after a little bit )

doing it the way I prefer means everyone sings rawa at the same time so it comes across louder.

do you see what I mean?

im not arsed, i actually prefer the traditional way. But either way its still one group singing one bit and another singing the other bit.
It would sound better with another group singing
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, as a sort of background melody and everyone maybe ending with Yeah yeah yeah

This thread

I swear a lot of the younger fans who turn up at the SoL these days have no real interest in supporting Sunderland. It's more about standing up because it's against the rules, winding up the stewards who are only acting under instruction, being in competition with people sat in other parts of the stadium to see who sings the loudest then boasting on places like this about it (our block sings more than your block blah blah) and so on.

It's f***ing pathetic man

always sounds decent to me on tele and streams etc, the people who complain about it sound like spiteful jealous kids.

No. We turn up to vocally support our team. Your mere presence inside the stadium isn't supporting anyone other than the club's finances.

I also don't understand why there's always a competition between stands :)

There isn't. We just want every fucker to get behind the side rather than having 3 stands sat moaning like fuck.

You really could not make this up

The loudest this new singing section have been all season is when they have been singing songs about the stewards. Now could you tell me exactly how that is supporting the team?

Why don't you tell us how you are supporting the team?

By spending over 30 years of my life watching the lads home and away, the last 17 as a season ticket holder, and in all that time i've never felt the urge to sing songs about the stewards.
