The stewards song was song once when they dared come and try and mess with the U37 hard lads!

I love how people claim to not be to hear us yet Danny Rose heard us from the half way line. Comical

Im in row 20 and its poor. Singing red n white army every corner or free kick isnt gud enough.

danny rose chant
sessegnon chant
colback chant
500 miles
red and white army
roker to the light
horse with no name
by far the greatest team
cock of the north
mignolet chant
wise men
sunlun til i die
sing ya hearts out for the lads
sunlun boot boys
hello hello
mcclean chant

just to name a few

The 'acoustics' of the stadium are such that are very small amount of fans in the North Upper Stand can appear very loud. The sound must hit the roof and bounce straight down to the North Lower. I walked from the South Stand to the North during the boro match and the South Stand sounded loud until I reached the half way line, at which point I struggled to hear the South Stand. As I walked towards the North Stand the away fans began to sound very loud.

I think the point is, the North Upper makes the away fans sound much louder than their numbers and chants really deserve. Even Wigan sounded quite loud at times in the north lower. QPR can only have brought a coach-load but sounded noisy at times.

I don't think the move has worked well as there is no 'banter' between rival fans as you can't really see them, they are not in close proximity and the fans more likely to engage in singing can't hear the away fans as they at opposite ends of the ground.

It has made watching from the North Stand a less enjoyable experience without a doubt. Though at least the ground looks better with the South Stand seats filled.
You forgot the noise reducing foam built into the seats in the south stand singing ::lol:: section.

Yet they still manage to pay attention to the football. Amazing!

is the same foam in the away bit? cos he said it depends where you sitting as to what you can hear (so same for both ends, plank)

also, is the rest of the ground covered in this foam?

canny tonight. Thoughts? ;) It was about 3 to a seat where I was stood. Was expecting to have the row to mesel tonight anarl.

Shame we didn't get the performance to match.

The only time I heard any singing was when the South Stand started singing "we'll stand if we want etc ect" and thats not supporting the team???
Other than that I thought it was very flat.

danny rose applauded his chant from the half way line. he must have better hearing.

The away bit must have amplifiers built in cos surely the answer can't be that they're louder.

While that may be true with regards to the acoustics, there clearly are some bullshitters who will say the South is quiet even when it's not - proved by the fact that people in the Prem Concourse and even North West Upper have said they can hear us clearly, as can the ST holders I know who sit in the NEC. It might not be the Fulwell on a magic cup night but a few on here have: a) an agenda; b) selective hearing; or c) poor hearing compared to others.

This.

The lads who moved to the SS who keep the singing going are a big miss for the swc and should be given credit for the atmosphere they create. We kept trying to get songs going but no-one seems interesteded in singing anymore:cry:

You's should move to the SS, still some seats near the bottom and for next season there might even be some near the back/middle if some of the fans who moved from the North are fed up of being forced to stand.

Wrong! The brain plays a significant role in the process, which I suppose might be a problem for those who perceive singing red n white army for 20 mins non stop to be a virtue to be admired.

I suppose you'd have no problem with the players chanting it non stop while going about their business.

Thought was canny atmosphere last night, lost my voice a little bit today. Me and about 40 didnt stop last night in the ss but just think people are so pissed off they cant be arsed which is fair enough but i think you may as well get behind them rather than booing

Nowt wrong with that, everybody looks back to when Denis Smith's red & white army was chanted for half an hour non-stop with fond memories. As usual though, in the modern day when it's done by the SWC/South Stand it's apparently shite.

I don't have a problem with it. They pay their money, it's their choice.
Some of the dafties on here though see it as a virtue which others who pay to watch a football match should be obliged to comply.

The sad kids at the back of the south stand were jumping around to Gary Rowell world

Well I certainly don't think that, each person can go and support the lads whichever way they please imo, whether you're a singer in the South or sitter in the East, as long as they're there then I admire them.

The problem on here now is nobody can have a sensible debate about this subject because there's too much bitchyness from both sides.

Most noise generated was probably to encourage the lads to clear the ball in the second half when QPR took about four shots on goal in the space of 30 seconds.

Definitely - I thought the support, and in particular the vocal support, was good. When you think how little we've had to encourage us these past 8 months it was amazing!

Better last night u37 rear stuck to songs people know and like for the first Half hour and more people responded and weren't sickened off by the glee club.

Some clowns disturbing the rawa chants by being out of time on purpose , that needs to happen natural or it's just a distraction that breaks the chant up . Also when a chant is finished let it go , when people have finished they have finished , give em a minute they will sing something else , don't try to force it

Better though lads , better ;)
