Been getting them every so often, seem to be right in the joint between my forearm and me hand. Like a sharp stab it seems to come from nowhere, last a second or two then go. Anyone had owt similar?

carpal tunnel is less common. if you can grip between thumb and forefingers fine then it isn't CT, that's one test the doctor give us that I remember.

RSI type complaint far more likely to be tendon related than the carpal.

no, not relevant im right handed this is more my left, and not really,just get my hands up the back of basins and sinks etc in awkward positions

if this is the case it becomes more likely @ajthemackem is right, either with the ligament or carpal tunnel, if you get your wrists really in awkward positions the carpal could be affected.

basically whatever it is, rest and not over extending or putting too much weight/stress on it for a while is all you can do really.
