All irrelevant in the debate as to your claims that the UK funded the development of the vaccine.
It did not. It funded the trials after it was designed by an Irish woman, Professor Teresa Lambe, and the Jenner Institute (set up by an Irishman, Professor Adrian Hill) had manufactured some vaccine itself and also an Italian company for preliminary trials.

The British Government funding went to AZ, (not Jenner Institure/Oxford University) to do trials and support the manufacturing process in UK factories. It did not fund the factories in the EU that was being used for producing it.

Bottom line on AZ is that it isn't as good as the Pfizer vaccine, its efficacy isn't great against the South African variant (something like 10% efficacy against that one).

That is just not true.

Which lad? CEF?
Nothing he post is true.

You will get used to it eventually.

Fuck all to do with Sarah Gilbert and Andrew Pollard the leaders of the vaccine development project then

see you’re promoting the Pfizer vaccine now, I take it you’ve abandoned your adulation and interest in the J & J vaccine and that was the best thing since sliced bread apparently

I'm a bit hesitant to believe that it's 95% effective against all infections when in our house both the AZ vaccinated adults have contracted Covid (one of us with two doses). Perhaps the Delta variant has something to do with this however, which is probably not a factor in that Italian data.
Have you got severe disease?
Are you dead?

If the answer is no the vaccine works.

Seems a bit of a PR battle now.

EU also claiming a victory too :) https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/api/files/document/print/en/ip_21_3090/IP_21_3090_EN.pdf

Astra Zeneca AstraZeneca welcomes Court ruling on supply of its COVID-19 vaccine to Europe

It appears the EU wanted 120m by 30 June 2021. Court has said AZ have to supply 80.2 million doses by 27 September 2021 or they will have to pay €10 per dose not delivered. So far AZ have delivered 70m so they have 3 1/2 months to deliver 10 million doses

For anyone fluent if French full judgement is here https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/api/files/attachment/869224/Court Decision 18-06-2021.pdf

VdL in full arse saving mode though
