What does English cricket gain from allowing associate players to learn there trade in county cricket?

Is the purpose of county cricket not to produce players for England?

Aside from the Dutch (and there aren't many bar the one dayers) and Irish (ditto, but a few more) there aren't that many.

They never get out of the groups in the one day format so it's at most 16 games?

And most associate cricketers for the likes of Canada are ex-pat Pakistanis!

Other than the Irish lads, and a couple of Dutch players there aren't many.

And any Irish player that does well we just nick.

So you want all cricketers who play in the county game to be English?
