Ashes Second Test - Adelaide

The highlights just flashed through and we seem to have beaten the bat plenty?

no where near getting a wicket though. only one ball in 11+ overs would have hit the stumps so far. way, way too short and a poor line. you have to make the batsman play if you bowl first surely.

not sure what commentary everyone's listening too but no one on the aussie commentary team agree with either decision to bowl first, the fields that have been set or the line/lengths of the bowling. way too negative & defensive. that includes KP.

need to be much better or it's goodbye to the ashes.

I’d be sick as fuck if I went over there and was gubbed 5-0 by this lot. Granted I went over in 06/07 and it was 5-0 but it was more palatable with the likes of Warne and McGrath putting us to the sword.

Must have been part of the 'bowl' decision. Keeps me optimistic anyway.
Good luck with the optimism.
Smacks of Nassa in 2002.
As the commentators say, it is a negative decision.
I also say that it is a decision based on a lack of confidence in your team's batting ability.
Just hope for the best.
The bowling hasn't helped either.
I hope it pisses down for the next 5 days and we can go to Perth only one down and with Stokes back.
Hope am wrong and we win.

Edit- missed the above post, which it looks like I am copying.

I was surprised we didnt choose to bat. Has KP said anything positive about England since he was kicked out?

I agree it looks a poor decision, just the rain keeps it a bit more 'all hope is not lost'.

he gives good insights to be honest, he basically said that both anderson and broad will know root made the wrong decision to make them bowl, so that won't help getting themselves psychologically in the right frame of mind to bowl.

anderson is also still injured, even another day of rest would have helped him (i said that, not KP ;) )

Rain gets us a draw. Take that and get Stokes in for next test hopefully

We can't really afford to drop him unfortunately batting is weak enough already
20 wickets needed to win a test though, can’t depend on run outs! 4 seamers on this with the Kookaburra will be a disaster. Crane in and Bairstow up. This is IF Moeen can’t bowl of course.
