Personally think that is about right with it being a 3 horse race (draw included). We were hammered down under, and even with home advantage I haven't seen anything to massively swing things in our favour. Just short of 2/1 seems well priced IMO.
 
Been watching the ODI's , those convicts have so very big, very fast and nasty quicks coming through. I cant see anything but and Oz win. Then again I am an optimist :P

Most of them have lumbar stress fractures. Effective in ODIs but will break down in test cricket, eg Pattinson last summer.

If/when they grow out of it (spine is supposed to toughen up from 25 onwards) they could have a formiddable attack.
 
i fancy a 2-1 england win, depending on the weather.

it will be 14 years since the aussies won here in 2015. they wont be allowed to dominate like they did in australia

Can't believe you put both in the same sentence.

Best of the lot if he could keep fit. Wouldn't hold your breath though, 4 overs in a T20 match is about all he can manage atm.

I've watched them recently and youre right; they have players who are simply a cut above ours. They are modern day/age/era players whereas ours seem stuck in one mode - boring.
 
ECB should think about TV as promotion as well as a money earner. They certainly don't look after the County Cricket and in that they remind be of the FA who have ignored the FA Cup which used to be the best.

On the national team point of view it would be nice to have some heroes of the Botham variety, of course those can't be conjured up out of thin air but I think a bit more cricket on TV would help and I've said previously that I think some more local TV exposure would help Durham.

I agree with link ups between schools and clubs and it sounds like Hetton school are doing well on that front.

I wouldnt argue with that. The Aussies seem to allow their players to express thesemvles, ours seem to be frightened to open up and play an expansive game at times. Maybe the tactics are too rigid or the reason is as you say.
 
I think the problem is we go too far one way or the other. We don't seem to have worked out a balanced plan. We have one extreme where Cook and Bell get us to 60/0 from 15, which these days isnt really taking advantage of any restrictions, but is relatively risk free.

On the other hand Hales and Lumb will have a stab and go full pelt but we end up 100/5 from 15, probably a worse predicament than 60/0.

If you watch the best in the world at ODIs you will see that they all really know their games, and where they can score. They will be patient, but when it is in their area, they will throw everything at it. Bowlers aren't machines so you have to adjust and take real advantage when they slip up. When you see our lads the shot selection is very poor, and we see a vast array of dismissals - Ian Bell seems to invent ways to get out.
