Could also argue if smith didn’t get injured when he did it would be 3-0 Aussies. I don’t disagree with you like but it’s all ifs and buts.
Barring one of the most astonishing knocks of all time it would be even with Smith out

What about Aussies being 122 for 8 when the top seam bowler of all time lipped off? That, if, buts, maybes

Smith wont be any easier down under in a couple of years time. Warner might be back also.
Aye I mean yes Smith is a freak but because hes a freak this series has just been the usual for him. Not like a Bothams ashes.

All evidence suggests hes going to tour the world aftr this and grind all attacks into the dust slowly and methodically even while carrying a really average batting order.

Plenty times at Headingley England got reprieved.

Its impossible over a five test series to argue the result isn't accurate.

Desmond

Good piece on Curran

All I'd say is that rain saving Aussies at Lords was massive

If we'd won that and heading into Leeds with no Smith

Just never hear any journalists mention Lords, we would have won that.
I wonder how an attack of Jimmy/Broad/Archer/Curran/Stokes/Leach would have gone

Wouldn't have lost any runs by losing Roy either

I am really frustrated,we really could have won this series.

If we don't make it 2-2 from here we only have ourselves to blame
Is Matthew wade even more odious than David Warner?
The fielding all rounder - very lippy for a bloke who can't bat
I can't see Curran having a future as a bowler unless he finds 5 Mph from somewhere. Swing or not, 79 Mph isn't going to trouble anyone.
I completely take this comment back. If the kid can bowl like he did today (got Cummins with an 88 Mph delivery) then he's alright by me

Strange he is so vocal, thought the aussies were trying to be the good guys

Maybe shouldnt have celebrated all week like they'd won the series

Could see where it pitched straight away TC been some poor umpires this summer
Was a bit like the Leach LBW appeal in the Headingley test where the Aussies burned their review. It was so obviously outside leg stump. Even without looking, a RFM to a LHB going over the wicket is ALWAYS going to be a bit legside, Dharmasena has had a mare there. really poor

Sides would have played different had it been a 5 day match mind.

So hard to say. But then leach would have found a lot more joy on an actual fifth day wicket. And he looked good with it only 3 days old.

Yeah true I guess, I just even mean the hour on the final day, it rained till after 12pm

that made the difference really
just goes to show the talent of all rounders we have if we could win this test, basically win a test with no top order
