Asda and Morrisons rationing fruit and Veg

Not sure sure conned, more ‘let down’. If those in power had simply all accepted the result, and the country did as well, all that energy could’ve been spent working on deals and trying to get the best for the UK, but we pissed about far too much and have screwed ourselves.
Yeah that’s definitely the reason. I mean the idiots voted in a party twice, including one that had an oven ready deal, gave them an 80 seat majority and filled the cabinet with ideological headbangers but the problem is definitely that people - including the government itself under Yellowhammer - didn’t believe enough.

If you’re so stupid you believe easily debunked lies and words on the side of a bus then it’s your fault - not those who said “this is what will happen” and get proven right. You wanted this, you got this, you take responsibility for it. Simple as that.

Why would I get huffed I just asked you a question?
It was actually you who was huffed when I questioned what you said earlier. Anyway it's only chat on a message board. I doubt anybody really gives a shit about anything that is said on here that isn't personal.

You didn’t start whining about some posters on the thread and moaning about moving the thread then? Not to worry then.

You don't like the reality of the situation, that's fine. Let's move on. I believe Med crossings are getting back to normal, so we should see restocked shelves in a week or so.

I said it's turned into a political thread and should be on the politics forum. I didn't think that comment would upset anybody as it's true.
Why are you always angry when you post on here? I asked somebody a question that you decided to answer for some strange reason. When I asked you to clarify what you said about transport problems you started getting ratty and snotty.
As for the reality of the situation I can't do anything about some shops not having enough stock. Whether I like it or not is irrelevant. It hasn't affected us the wife has had no problems getting her normal shopping. Another storm in a tea cup for the Perma angry brigade to shout about. When in reality it's a nothing problem that's easily managed. So yes let's move on.

You asked what the issue was with Morocco. I have experience moving goods from North Africa to the UK, and I have a good friend who is ultimately responsible for 12-15% of all fresh produce imported into the UK supermarket sector, so I thought I'd answer your question. This is a chat message board after all.

You don't like the answer, that's fine.

It is difficult to have a thread like this and not get political.

A shortage of food in supermarkets is a political issue. If it is one supermarket then it could just be a problem with management at that supermarket. When a whole country is struggling with the supply of food, energy, transport etc then it is the job of the government to make sure this does not happen. If it has been caused by government decisions then that makes it more of a political discussion. It is quite difficult to chat about what people are observing, perhaps how peoples diets are changing without discussing the root cause.

But if anyone has been thinking about growing their own stuff and wants a positive and supportive thread (including between people who argue like hell on other threads), take a look or ask questions in:

Veg growing is seasonal so not an immediate, but even if you don't have space a few pots with tomato plants and a veg trug for salad leaves can see you not buying salad stuff through the summer. Perpetual spinach is another good one, easy to grow and a great source of iron - but I'll stop there, not the thread to dive into all that!

The only reason you don’t want people to talk about the politics behind this is because you voted for it to happen and are now desperate for people not to call you out for it.

“It’s a nothing problem and easily managed” when the actual supermarkets and farmers are telling you it’s because of Brexit - it’s hilarious you think you know better to be honest.

Oh, and that’s before we get into the fact that at the moment Britain isn’t carrying out the checks required by the agreement to leave the EU.

After 31st December, we have to check every load that comes into the UK so I’m sure that’ll speed things up and ensure this won’t happen in future.

Not Brexit related though.

Funny how the BBC are reporting it as partly down to extreme weather in Spain and North Africa.

Funny as they said it was largely down to Spain and North Africa 🤦🤷

The UK always looks for someone else to blame.
The BBC associate everything with "climate change " so will shoe horn it into any news story they can, even blamed it for all the unrepaired potholes 🙄

Mrs just been to Waitrose.
Next to fuck all in the fruit and veg.
Middle class shop. Liberal elite. Get to Aldi man.

They discussed it this morning and Brexit was mentioned predominantly along with other reasons. Nicky Campbell 10am.

Wow, you're a cucumber ITK. Class
Look, when I said what was the problem in Morocco, you said - "The supply chain route from North Africa goes through Spain or France".
It gave the impression the stuff was being hijacked on route by the Frenchies or the Spanish. What you said you were either mistaken or just made it up. There's nothing else to say really. Yet you keep coming back to say it.
I know it's important to some on here to have the last word so I won't reply to your next reply. That way it will end this daft conversation.

f***ing experts, what do they know?

Rosemary and Thyme are as tough as old byuts marra. They'll always be ok.
Done well for Parsley to get through mind.
Be surprised if the pepper does owt though. Only do them in the greenhouse from seed in pots every year.
normally i'd agree, i have some rosemary and thyme and they generally survive, but this winter deed.

Lucky in Devon with the climate. I sometimes forget to factor that in when posting marra.
Must have been proper harsh winter wherever you are marra to lose them both though.

Hey up wheez this character.
I've never noticed you before this thread. What was your name before this one? Or is it yet another alter ego for one of the regular goon squad? Just reading your posts on this thread you're clearly a very angry little man. You piled into the wanderer earlier without knowing a thing about him. Anyway you will fit right in on the politics forum it's full of little gems like you.
