Asda and Morrisons rationing fruit and Veg

Maybe they have different suppliers and further down (up?) the supply chain, those goods that would have ended up at ASDA or Morrisons have dried up, or they haven’t acted fast enough and other supermarkets have nabbed the rest of the remaining supply.

There’s another thread that mentions food shortages that are apparently due to poor harvests in Spain.

I’m observing, because I’m in Spain now, buying food like fruit and vegetables at Mercados, Supermercados and little corner shops whilst I travel around Andalusia. And I’m talking with my daughter who lives near Tarragona. And a friend who’s on the coast north of Alicante. And a friend who works near Madrid. And bugger me but the only shortages appear to be affecting the shops in the U.K.

You’ll find other first hand accounts on that thread from Spain and elsewhere - reporting… nada.

Makes you wonder dunnit?

I've just watched a video of some ex-pat who lives in Spain walking round the place he lives and there's no shortage over there funnily enough. Another scam to fleece the British.
Well of course they’re going to make sure there own residents have these staples before exporting them to us.

Nee peppers in Sainsburys or Lidl at the weekend.

See my post. If they’re growing them of course they’re going to make sure their shelves are stocked before exporting them. Any self respecting government would make sure of it. But not ours.

I've just come out of LIDL here. All the shelves were full. I purposely checked as I'd read the other thread before going.

So you’re confident that there are similar shortages in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Scandinavia etc? I use those typically non Tomato growing nations as examples.
