As we currently stand

I'm not sure how much weaker we are. Obviously Amad will be a loss but if we can keep our sick note defenders off the treatment table, we might have a chance.

We had no strikers fit and kept pace with play-off contenders on goals scored. Objectively we were worse at the back - that's what the stats clearly say.

We are quite clearly trying to get more options up front and have signed a promising young striker already. More will come.

But it makes perfect sense, looking at the teams stats, to prioritise defensive reinforcements. Which we have.

Something the moaners don't want to admit is that we also appear to have warned off interest in our actual best player - as in our own - Jack Clarke.
I agree.. we’ll concede less and control more games with the signings we’ve already got in.. there’s time to sign another keeper and a CF or two.. I’d say we’re in a better state overall than last July

Point to where I said we'd score 31 goals less.🤔
We need to replace the 31 goals we've lost, the players replacing those 3 players will need to score those goals or contribute in another way to the benefit of the team.
Who's the replacements for Simms, Amad and potentially Stewart.
Hemir could potentially be one but we'll need more.
But you’re saying we are going to be 31 goals down, going by your straight to the point statement? So you don’t think we’ll be 31 goals down? Or do you? Which is it?

If you think we won’t be 31 goals down, who do you think will get them?

There’s an argument our fit starting 11 vs last seasons for starting 11 is weaker as we have no Stewart or Ahmad.

I’d say overall those we have a much stronger squad this season.

Weaker….

The amounts of goals amad scored out of nothing hasn’t been replaced. Unless we do in the next few weeks Roberts , Pritch and Ba are going to have to contribute more than last year

We have one first team goalkeeper with a 16 year old as back up, how is that stronger?
The one first team keeper we have is the only one we needed last season and he’s now a year older and more experienced with an excellent championship season behind him.

We simply have to keep hold of Clarke. Amad is gone, Stewart could be away and wouldn't be fit til October anyway.

At this moment in time, I'd say we are definitely weaker up top and don't share the optimism of many. I think play offs will be a big stretch without some quality additions up there

Both simms and bass signed after today's date last year (bass in 2 days, Simms a week from now)

You want a centre back? We have Bathh, Ballard, Triantis, Seelt, Onien, Anderson, Johnson and arguably Alesse, Cirkin and Hume

Or have I missed sarcasm ?
Batth is likely to go imho which will make us threadbare in terms of experience.

Squad still looks to me like it has goals in it. Amad is a big loss, but I'm not sure how we replace a lad that cost as much as he did other than in the form of a loan. The clubs obviously still looking at strikers, and the GK from Man U.

I think we're going to have to be better defensively this season with the amount of strong teams in the league. We gave a lot of poor goals away, so that and home form are the big things that need to be rectified for me.

This for me. I’d we can be better defensively you don’t need to score as many.

We're weaker because of losing Amad but I think we'll see an improvement in the majority of our young players compared to last season and a lot depends on how good our new signings are.
If they're good then you could make a case for us being stronger defensively and that could be the difference in an overall improvement even without Amad!

Need to cut the crap and get in three strikers and a centre back - otherwise it'll be more of the same.
We've bought two centre-backs and have six on the books, with three full-backs who can also play there?

How many do you want?
The original question was are we weaker or stronger.
Having an opinion that we might be slightly weaker in the goals department does not make someone a moaner.

No, but kicking off before the transfer window is done and a ball has been kicked - does.

Definitely weaker but only because we've lost Diallo really, he was that good.

With no more signings, assuming Stewart stays and hasnt been ruined i do think we will be canny.

Some of it is injuries, we got about 20 league games each out of Ballard, Hume and Cirkin, if we can get them up near 35-40 then we'll definitely be better in defence.
I don’t think Hume’s number of games was down to injury, more that he didn’t get a regular place in the team until Christmas.
