Our tickets last season weren't that bad in the scheme of things as I recall, wasn't it around the £32 mark? Spurs were about the same as this season (£34?). Birmingham are amongst the worst offenders, charging about £40.

The time to worry is when we become Cat A games for them.

i bought one in the home end at the lane , cost price was 70 quid

Think the point that's being mad is the ridiculous rise in prices since all seater stadiums were brought in. My Wembley ticket in 73 cost me a quid. The following year was the only time I've ever bought a season ticket (Fulwell Wing Stand) think it was 16 quid, I f***ing hated being in the seats so gave it to our lasses fatha and went back and stood in the Fulwell at 50p a time.

Was it that much back then?
I started to go in the mid seventies, and I seem to remember that it was about 10-20p in the Roker end for kids, and my mam used to object to paying that much. I am sure I can recall seeing the price boards outside the Roker end being changed, and my Dad going on like it was the end of the world.

I think a spurs fan posted here that the inter milan tickets were £76 and only had concessions in one stand.

Very early 70s it was 2/6d in the Fulwell, don't know about kids prices as I didn't pay then it went up to 10/- which was 50p in mickey Mouse money.

i just used to nick in for the last 10 mins when they opened the gates!

It costs from £33 to £66 for Premier League games against lesser sides but the bill for a family of four could still top their weekly food shopping bill.

Wtf what f***ing shopping do people buy, theres three of us and we only spend about £75 max most weeks if not less. Who the fuck spends £140+ a week on shopping for four people there doing it wrong.

there is 4 of us and our shopping bill a week is £140 - i dont think that is unusual - were are you shopping?

Or as little as £33 depending on if you can actually read beyond the hype, and not be distracted by some cute statistical mumbo-jumbo.

Arsenal are the model of how PL clubs can be successfully run in the modern economic and footballing climate. They recently announced a 73% rise in profits.

The Emirates is almost universally acknowledged as being about the best there is in the country, and as "Lofty" says, you can hardly say their fans are not getting value for money.

That's not the point though is it.

Football was and still is a working man's escape, something for him to enjoy on a weekend.

There is no justification for current ticket prices other than pure greed.
