You can build bases and stuff, might be a good SMB multiplayer game for us to play.

UPDATE: Apparently it's a griefer's paradise. You can spend 80 hours building a base, taming dinosaurs just for some guy to come along and destroy all of it.. Even worse, it can, and often does, happen when you're logged off.
Screw that.

sums up why I'm done with online survival games.
At least with Dayz you could pretty much get back everything you had in a couple of hours, if I spent days building up a base only to have someone wreck it while I was logged out I'd instantly uninstall.

yeah, you do in all the multiplayer ones afaik. Ark seems the best of the bunch tbf, it has pve and no modern weapons servers, i'm still not interested in it though, think i've been put off for life, or at least until The Division comes out.

There's a few, 2017 looks interesting and Beaking Point is pretty decent but it's very similar to Dayz. My mate keeps going on about Epoch, apparently it was great for Arma 2 and the Arma 3 version is near release.
Long Dark is a good game but it's single player so it gets boring quickly.

Think getting dropped on a dinosaur inhabited island with nothing and you have to survive.
I've played 5 hours so far and i've been killed by multiple Carnotaurus and a Raptor.
If anyone is playing, gimme a shout.

From what I've read the major problem is someone can come along when your asleep and destroy everything you've spent days building. For me, thats a deal breaker.

Yes definitely.
I'm playing offline but you can create your own server I think.
