Pedantic, but I think we're all behind him. It's whether we still have faith in him that differs.

And yes.

Yes.

Always said I would give him till at least Christmas (sorry I know thats not one word!)
Always love how fans think they're generous by giving the manager till Christmas. Some say they'll wait till we're 10 games in, wow thanks! A sad sign that football managers have zero time to deliver results. There's no way if Fergie started his time now that he'd have lasted as long as he did. The baying fans would've hounded him out in the first couple of years.

They get very well paid for not delivering results.

Nobody forced them to be managers ;)

If I have to give a yes/no then yes. But it isn't as simple as that.

Yes. I'm behind him, but there'd a couple of things he needs to learn.

- central midfield player selection has not been good.

- airing grievances against players in media interviews is not helpful.

But I still back him and De Fanti.

'Still', meaning you had to be behind him in the first place.

No point replying if you've been desperate to get him out since day one.

Simple one word answer- Yes/No

Yes for me
Sod the one word answer life aint black and white fella!for the record i dont like the man or his politics but i do admire his enthusiasm and zeal i thought he was a great player........like most safc fans i will back the manager until he proves himself to be useless. He and short has made huge changes at the club and this may take time to work. The premiership is unforgiving and we need points on the board or we will still be in the bottom three by december.
,so pdc has to prove his worth as any failings of the team will be down to him, although i doubt he will see it that way! So its a yes for the moment and a no if he fucks it up.........typical fickle football fan me thinks!

Im starting to think the north east teams are cursed, all the money that went into newcastle from 1992-2005 and they won nowt, allthe money we have spent since 2006 and we have been treading water all these years, its a remarkable level of failure.

He's a loose cannon and I don't think he can change, just wonder who is next in line for blame as it certainly won't be himself.
I've not seen anything as of yet to convince me to say yes from a coaching point of view and a management point of view, although he is a coach, he has to be as his man management skills are absolutely abysmal.

I'm hoping the break will give him a chance to take a hard look at where we are going wrong as he seems to think it is just individual errors to blame when in reality the teams he has sent out have not been good enough.

He has no excuses now, the transfer window has closed, we have a squad that on paper is much better than last season, if he is a good as his badges proclaim then in a months or so time I can come back to this post, hold my hands up and say, 'Paolo, Paolo forgive me for I didn't know what I was on about'.

Bloody hope so, it's like Groundhog Day being a Sunderland fan.

The point I was making was that I wouldnt even consider his position being under threat until at least christmas as he needs and deserves time to get things right - Thats a hell of a lot more than some fans are giving him

As we all now though premier league football is a cruel beast and if things havent picked up by Christmas the pressure on him (and Short) will be massive.

Your right about Fergusons though, but unforunately there is too much money involved nowadays to risk giving managers time in case they dont turn it around, especially in cases like ours where the result is relegation from the top table rather than just not winning the league
