So what if he is? There isn't a blue print on how to be a manager. People use different techniques.

It worked at Swindon. The only difference is how precious our players' ego's are.

I'd rather listen to a strong minded Di Canio who does not feed us with cliched bullshit than a bumbling O'Neill or Steve 'pass the buck' Bruce.

Di Canio is a winner. He trained like a lion when he was a player and has the highest standards. If our players accept his hardworking, committed philosophy then we'll be fine. However, if they are lazy and choose the easy way out then there's not a manager available who would make a difference anyhow.
So he trained hard whoopee.Im behind PDC but when you say hes a winner are you referring to 1 season at Swindon? He is motivated driven etc but I wouldn't exactly say hes a winner just yet.Everyone wins something at Celtic and someone wins Div 2 every year. You would think he was Ferguson the way you are going on.Are you suggesting that if you are a hard trainer you are a automatically a winner?Fyi there are huge differences between Div 2 and the prem not just egos.[DOUBLEPOST=1378263263][/DOUBLEPOST]
100% yes..... I took my son with me to the Crystal Palace, ok not the best result, and a ground that has swallowed up all previous SAFC manager since the early 90's, but as a long suffering fan, my son wanted to hang around to meet PDC after the game......
Unfortunately it took him and most of the team, 90mins to appear, (8:45pm)after the game. I am ashamed to say we were the only Sunderland fans their, yes in full red n white kit........feeling P.O, in between 15 CP fans, ok I did have a few strong lemonade before the match and wanted to head back for another few, but my son wanted to meet PDC......So we stood our ground outside the CP main stand.
When PDC did finally appear my sobs phone camera had given up like the rest of the team(actually it was my fault as these new phones require a young chap to operate not a middle aged muppet with fingers like pit shovels),yep....... I missed my opportunity of a pic with PDC with my son. as PDC stormed off to the front and got on the bus........
I was a bit miffed by this so I walked round and gestured to PDC my feelings by pointing to my son, my watch and the phone camera...... To my surprise he pointed to the front of the bus came down and ushered us past the security so we could have a photo my son, who will cherish this incident for a long time to come........ I thanked PDC and my parting words as we shook hands............you never stop fighting and we will never stop believing, there was a twinkle in his eye.........as he backed onto the bus never loosing full eye contact. FTM..........
That would make me want him to succeed .Sadly that is sentiment not pragmatism.

I want him to succeed because I want my team to succeed.

Also I'd like him to do well just to put it over on those gobshites who keep spouting on TV and who obviously want him to fail because he is not part of the old boys' network.

Whether he will I have not a clue. But at least it won't be because of lack of effort. He will give it his best, that is for certain.

^ another willing him to fail.

100% yes from me, we have to get behind the team / manager / club now more than ever, its a transitional period and they dont always run as planned.
Things will hopefully come good and turn around but PDC had only had 3 games and some people want him sacked already !
Even the press would take the piss for sacking him so soon and it would be suicide to do it now.
This is now his team, he has no excuses if we dont start to perform.
Hopefully he wont cut off his nose to spite his face with team selection if a player has a bad game (cabral) in the future and play his strongest team at all times.

No.

After our incredible success these past few years I cannot tolerate someone with a record since the start of the season of one win, one draw and two losses, it's just not good enough for Sunderland AFC

I cant help it if you cant read.I absolutely want him to succeed but I have my reservations.I want England to win the world cup but don't think we will.Does that make me unpatriotic?I understand you are clearly a huge PDC fan.Im a Sunderland fan and PDC is part of that but Im not willing to anoint him as the 2nd coming of Brian Clough. He has not earned my trust just yet.Beating Newcastle is great but you cant rest on your laurels. When MON arrived did we think we would be where we are now?Im behind him totally but to ask me to ignore some of the strange goings on is unreasonable.
